When planning on kids going back to school, one thing is to always check on their wardrobe for the new school year.  Last year, we had a chance to work with French Toast in hosting a review... and I am so excited to get to host a review and giveaway this year!
Let me tell you, the clothes that we received last year still look almost like new, so this is a brand that has stood the test of our house!   (We loved the shirts that we got last year so much that he wore one of them for his school photos! )  The great thing was that his Sunday School teacher asked what brand he was wearing, since it looked so great on him and when I said French Toast, she was quick to tell me that she was familiar with that brand from when her kids were little!
Our clothes arrived in a cute little drawstring bag with the clothing wrapped in logo paper.  Broxton knew it was for him and was so excited to try them on!  He helped pick them out, so he was thrilled to see what he had chosen from the website!
Long Sleeve Pique Polo - I think that this looks really good on him and it still has a bit of room for him to grow, without it being too big and looking weird!   He wanted a blue one, so that was what we went with... His favorite color is still blue right now, so I sort of expected this one!  With the long sleeved polo, they offer 13 different colors, so this would be great when a long sleeve is needed, but not hot enough for a sweater!
Short Sleeve Pique Polo  - I loved that they have 18 colors to choose from!  From pinks to purples, red, white and blue...  the list of colors goes on and on!  Broxton wanted to go with an orange one, not really sure why... but we got it and he might wear it during the fall for a couple cute photos!  Stay tuned to find out!
Mock Layered Polo - This could possibly be my favorite shirt from what we got this time around!  It looks like he has a white t-shirt underneath (as shown by the sleeves and also where the shirt buttons on the chest.) Although it LOOKS like it, its just a mock one, so there is no real layering... We are in the south, you know.. where it gets HOT, so the layered look is CUTE, but not always practical!  This shirt only comes in navy, blue and red.  I really hope they add additional colors down the road!
The final item we received was their Pleated Double Knee Pants!  I took a picture of him wearing them, they look really good on him in my opinion, but it was a weird looking photo, so I did not want to post it.  I did want to show the double knee... I know that this will be great for us, since he seems to wear through his knees like you just would not imagine!

Now, since I am so in love with FRENCH TOAST CLOTHING, one lucky winner gets to see how great they are!  Don't let "uniform" turn you away!  Yes, they may be known for their uniforms, but we love them for the quality and look!   We don't have to wear uniforms (yet) but if we ever have to, I know where to turn to!

One winner will win - 2 tops from french toast and 1 bottom!

I am not sure if your kids like stickers, but around here... Stickers are like gold!
I actually went and made Broxton a sticker book, since he had so many...  and he loves getting them!
Lately I have been seeing more of a "themed" sticker book versus the 3 ring binder type from my days...  The newest to us?  Disney has released Minnie's Bow-Tastic Sticker Collection... and Sofia's Royal Sticker Collection!
In the Minnie book, we are just in time for the Grand Opening of Minnie's Bow-tique!
The pages have places for you to place the stickers of the characters being discussed... Such as Daisy, Figaro, Clarabelle and others!   As the grand opening happens, we get to see the Fashion Show with all the models  We also get to celebrate Daisy's birthday, a pet adoption day and so much more !
This book is sure to be a hit with any budding fashionista, or Minnie Mouse fan!

In Sofia's Royal Sticker Collection, we get to meet Sophia before she is a princess!  (I never knew the background story, so this was cute!)  Then, we get to witness Sophia transform into a Princess overnight!  In this sticker book, we get to see her Royal Ball, then get to watch as she learns what palace life is like... as well as going to school as a princess!  If you have a little one that loves Princesses... This is a must have for you!

Both of these books have several pages of cut outs for you to add the stickers that go with the story..but they also have plenty of extra stickers for independent play!  With over 1,000 reusable stickers, this is going to be a great way to have hours of fun!
This would be a great gift to find under the tree this year!

Now that summer is closing on us, that doesn't mean that the scents of summer can't be with you throughout the year to enjoy!  Good Earth Beauty has a scent, Coconut Lime, that immediately takes my imagination (and senses) to a beach with the water splashing and the sun shining!
I was sent the Restorative Shampoo to review and I definitely fell in love with it.  At $15 for a bottle, I did not use it each time I washed my hair (I chose to rotate it in and out with other products.)
I loved the way it left my hair feeling and smelling.
This would be a great addition to any care packages you may be sending to a loved one away at school.
This also comes in conditioner, so it would make a great gift idea for the upcoming holiday!

A Lesson on Grandparents Day @edible Helps you Treat them to something special!

You know the old saying, "You Learn Something New Every Day?"  Well, it seems to be more and more true for me as the days go on...  This Sunday is Grandparents Day and to be honest, I just presumed that Grandparents day had been around for ages...  Well, throw in the "learn something new" and here you go:
Grandparents Day did not become official until 1979 -- meaning that I have been around for each of them! Whew, glad to know I did not miss any!  Seriously though... It became official in 1979 and it is designated to be honored on the first Sunday in September, after Labor day!
The cool thing I learned was that the FORGET-ME-NOT is the official flower for Grandparents Day!
(After looking it up, I think they are beautiful and I need some for our yard!)
Broxton with MY Grandmother!  I am so blessed he gets to know his great grandparents!
Growing up, my grandparents have always been very important people in my life...
My Nana was my best friend (and yes, I miss her every day!)
My Mema and Grandaddy hold special memories of riding in the back of a pickup truck, special holidays and so much more.  My Grandmama and Grandaddy were at every single Grandparents Day event.
When you were growing up, did your school hold "Grandparents Day" programs? I remember parts of it like it was yesterday...  There was a program, we had artwork hung up to show them what we had been doing, we got to walk around the school showing off our work, but the best?  Showing off our Grandparents to our friends!  (You and I know grandparents hold a special place in a kids heart!)
Broxton with my parents.  He has a special bond with his MawMaw and Papa!
Now that Broxton is in school, I was wondering if we would do grandparents day events... But since he has been in preschool (2 years) and now Kindergarten, we have yet to have any sort of event...  I guess it is a good thing, since my parents don't live close enough to drive over for a quick school program or something.
The point of all of this?  (Besides reminding you to go and visit --- or at least call--- your grandparents this weekend!)  To let you know you can send them a little something to show your love!

Edible Arrangements!
This is now the second arrangement that we have received from them and each time they are just as stunning as if they sent the culinary artist into our kitchen and made it right there while we watched!
The fruits are just as juicy and fresh as if they had been picked right out of our back yard!
If you are looking for a gift that is different, but also treats them to a bit of indulgence...
Look into all that edible arrangements has to offer.
They have small gifts starting at $29 and they go up to very large arrangements that are at $94.

Broxton gets excited for the pineapple flowers (they are pretty cool looking, how could you not enjoy taking a bite into one of those?!)  Marc seems to go for the chocolate covered strawberries (it is a fruit after all, who cares if it is 8 in the morning?)  I love all of them, like I said - it is all just so fresh!

So- what are you waiting for?  You can head over to Edible Arrangements NOW and order and still have it delivered in time!   They do have chocolate covered Granny Smith Apples, if you want to do a play on words and get grannies for your granny!

HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome Way to Give a Gift to Help with Young Development @AustinLloydBox #BringingUpBaby

FTC Compliant Review Policy:
The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

One of the greatest things about blogging is learning more about new products.  I was recently introduced to Austin Lloyd and talk about impressive!   Austin Lloyd is a subscription box that you can purchase for little ones you know and love.  They have 3 different plans and I think they are affordable for what all is inside.  Honestly, I wish I had known of this when Broxton was younger...
Austin Lloyd specializes in gifts for young kids.  Up first, you pick your plan.
1 month subscription - $49.99
3 month subscription - $46.99
6 month subscription - $44.99
The subscription automatically renews and is delivered the 3rd week of the month.
That is right!  Engaging Surprises for Young Minds!
Next, you pick the play level for your child.  (Since young ones develop at different rates, they don't want to base it all on age, instead they give you stages of play and you pick what is best for your little one.)

I ordered a package for my little niece... and when it arrived, they packaging alone had me smiling... I knew that whatever was inside was going to be awesome!   I was eager to open it and when I did... Wow....  Yep, they don't skimp on the gifts!  (They say each box will contain 4-5 gifts)
As you open the box, you see that they have it customized for the gift recipient.  (Look on the bottom right side and you will see a tag that says "Layla."  The top has an insert that says you are more than welcome to donate any used toys to them and they will send the toys to a charity of their choice.
One thing I really love?  That each Austin Lloyd box is packaged and filled with items that fit a certain "theme."  Our box was a Treasure Hunt Theme...
Included in our box?
The Pirates Lock and Sock (2 finger puppets that also include rhymes to read and act out.)
Whale Bath Toy (floating toy for the pool, bath or water table.)
Sea Life Adventure Book (count-a-long book that includes a finger puppet diver that is attached to the book.)
Development Turtle (has pockets for putting the toys in and has sounds to go with them, jingles, rattles, crinkles and squeaks.  It helps to work with shapes, counting and colors.)
Pirate Adventure Book (includes push and pull tabs to make this an interactive book.)

What is also pretty awesome is that each month you can see what the next month has in the works!  (At least the theme!  They can't give it all away!)  For example - If you ordered by July 31st, you would get the August box... which was FOREST FRIENDS.  If you ordered by August 31st, you would get the September box of Air and Space!
I really loved that the package contained an envelope with information on all the included toys.  Also included on each sheet?  The retail value of each toy so you know that you are getting a great deal!

If you are out of town, this would be a really cool way to get a great gift for a young one!  (Shipping is free!)  Just head on over to see what all they have to make the young ones in your life smile and enjoy playing!!!!  This would also be a great way for someone who might claim they don't know what to get a child... as the company picks out what it best!   You can just take the credit for knowing about Austin Lloyd!

@REACHProducts - Great for #Back2School (Great Care Package Additions!)

Kicking off back to school also means that NEW TOOTHBRUSHES!   (You do know you are supposed to change your toothbrush every 3 months, right?)  Reach has a new concept in oral care and I get to share it with you!   What better way to remember to change them, than with a kick off of school?  Then again AFTER HALLOWEEN --- all that candy, you can remember that, right?

The reach complete brushes come in your choice of a 2 pack or individually packaged.
The new Reach Complete Care Line?
Floss -  Special Floss bristles.  Clean Deep Between Teeth.
Pro - 3 angles.  For Superior Plaque Removal.

BOTH BRUSHES:
  • 13° triple angled neck
  • Triple angled bristles maximize contact with each tooth
  • Soft thumb rest for comfort and performance
  • Tongue Cleaner
  • Ergonomic lightweight handle
  • Available in SOFT, MEDIUM, and FIRM bristles
Angle Pro:Bi-level bristle design with extra prominent REACH Tip™ containing whitening bristles

Angle Floss:
  • Floss-like bristles remove plaque deep between teeth and along the gum line

My favorite part of the brush?  The thumb grip area!  I know it is a small part of the whole thing, but it just seems to fit better in my hand and makes for easier usage.  Well, that and the head of the brush.  I have to be honest, I thought the brush part was great and it got my teeth clean.. but the back has a tongue cleaner and I LOVE it!!!!
I was concerned that it was going to be a bit to large to fit into our toothbrush holder, but was actually very surprised it fit just as easy as if had been made for that container!  Now, If I could just get my sons toothbrushes to fit in there as well!
Make sure to be back to school ready with new toothbrushes!  If you are sending care packages to a loved one away at school, make sure to add this to the box!

I normally include toothbrushes in my Christmas gifts too!  What an easy (yet always needed) addition! Would make great gifts perfect for a stocking!

A new back to school snack for us has been the Oat bars from Bobo's Oat Bars.  I was excited that they sent us a few different to try and I have enjoyed them more than anyone else.  I thought that my favorite would be the Peanut Butter and Jelly, but as soon as I tried the Apple Pie, I knew I was hooked!
We were sent Bobo's Oat Bars in Original, Peanut Butter & Jelly and even Apple Pie.  Make sure you visit the store locator to see where you can purchase these near you!  Each bite is individually wrapped (and labeled, so you can throw them in a bowl or container for easy access!)  I love that each one I have had has been just as moist and tasteful as the first one I ever tried!
The size of the Bobo's Bites makes it easy to throw into your purse or a book bag.  Talk about easy snacking whenever you need!   I have actually had them as afternoon snacks when Broxton gets home, but I have also noticed that I will grab one for a quick breakfast as I walk out the door!
Bobo’s Oat Bars have been picking up steam as a favorite go-to snack because of their moist and dense texture, multiple varieties, portability and “home-made” quality. Bobo’s 16 delicious flavors, including six gluten-free choices, are made with organic and natural Non-GMO ingredients.

A is for Airplane #MakingMemories

Over the summer, I was able to let Broxton experience something pretty neat.
We had recently seen Planes - Fire and Rescue, so he was still all excited about seeing Dusty CropHopper on the big screen again... but then my dad A.K.A. "Papa"  was able to allow Broxton (and one of his big brothers) to have a summer to remember!!!!!

In Albany, Georgia, there is a company there that has been around for over 40 years, THRUSH AIRCRAFT ... and they specialize in making agricultural aircraft  A.K.A. Crop Dusters a.k.a. other "Dusty CropHoppers" for those of you with younger children!!!
When we walked in, I am not really sure what I was expecting to see, but I was blown away with being impressed, that was for certain!
There was this huge hangar/warehouse whatever you want to call it that had the assembly lineS going producing different things, but we just sort of walked by there... That was when we entered the area that made Broxton's face light up!  I thought there would be one, maybe two, planes in that area... but there was like 6 or so!  All white with black and red letters / numbers!

We got to look at the different planes and Broxton kept saying that he "couldn't believe he was seeing a real live Dusty CropHopper!"  Just seeing his face light up, that whole trip was worth it!  We were even able to have one of the big brothers with us that day... and I know that he had never been all up close like that to a plane (neither had I until then) so it was a memorable trip for all of us!

Broxton with one of his brothers, checking out the crop dusters at Thrush!
Look who was able to get IN THE PLANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Talk about #makingmemories!  He still talks about this day!
Look at the smile on him!  It was worth it all!

I really doubt that any of you are out looking for a crop duster to purchase - but if you are...
Make sure you visit the Thrush Website (or even those of you not looking to buy that just want to learn more)  The people were so nice and we had a great time!
Broxton even got a hat from there... but we won't be wearing it anymore
(That story will be told next week!)

Feelings Alphabet? F is for Feelings!

FTC Compliant Review Policy:
The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

F is for Feelings is a great book that we recently received for review.  Free Spirit Publishing has pulled through again and I think that this is a perfect book for my son as he is just starting Kindergarten.
Why now?  Well, he is still coming into his own person... even more so now that he has started "big kid school"  and it actually has opened up conversation for us.
F for Feelings goes through the entire alphabet and gives a colorful illustration of the feeling being discussed.  Each feeling comes with one or two sentences to explain the feeling...

"A is for AFRAID.  I am scared."    - We were able to talk about when he was afraid and how that feeling moved into another feeling... Being happy!  (First day of school, he was afraid and scared because he did not know anyone in his class... but he made friends!)

"Q is for QUIET.  I need some time all by myself.  Shhh...."  - Everyone needs alone time at some point or another... It can help you relax, calm down or focus on something that needs to be done.

At the end of the book, we have a  four page section on activities for parents, caregivers and teachers to use this book to engage with kids.  ( I love that Free Spirit offers this in their books!)

One activity?
Draw a picture of each of the feeling words in the book.

Another?  Ask children to come up with additional feeling words to go along with each letter in the alphabet.  (A can also be ANGRY - ADAMANT - what word can you come up with?)

Educational Snacks - @DickandJane_Edu #Back2School

FTC Compliant Review Policy:
The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

Everything seems to be a struggle around here lately, so I am always up for great suggestions!  Since Broxton has started kindergarten, each day is new as to his likes and dislikes and I have to just sort of  go with the fact that he is really becoming his own person.
One thing that also changes?
His hunger... Some days he walks in "starving to death" as he says... and other days he is " still really full" and doesn't want to eat.  I have several varieties of snacks and treats so that leaves an endless opportunity for him to snack if need be.  I was excited to learn about Dick & Jane Educational Snacks and was eager to see how Broxton would like them.
Dick & Jane Education Snacks are cute cookies that come is 3 different "themes."
English &  Spanish, States & Capitals, or Presidents.  As you can see from the picture above, we were sent The first two.  The original plan was to eat a box and send the other in for Broxton's class to have a snack time...  but.... Well, that just did not work out for us.
We ended up opening the English and Spanish ones and it was nice to see that they didn't just do random words, but they used words that kids would be using... We had dog, numbers, sports and more...
The cookie is a nice size, but I will admit, it tastes just like normal cookie... If you are looking for something more exotic, look elsewhere.. but -- if you are looking for a good cookie that will allow a little education, STOP now and look at Dick & Jane! (They are available at your local Kroger ...  As well as on Amazon!  They can't make it any easier for you, can they???)
The cookies are just the right size for little ones to chomp on and the fact that they are nut free means you can send it in for your child without worrying about any issues with classmates!!!
I like that the words are stamped / pressed INTO the cookie, not just added on top with sugar or more cookie... That could come off, but not when they are IN the cookie.  Broxton has been having a blast getting the cookies out and having me read it in English & Spanish to him!
If you can feed your child an educational snack that is made with all natural ingredients and you can get a smile out of him WHILE he is eating it, I think you did a pretty good job!!!
Yes, we ended up opening the States & Capitals Box too!  Not only do Broxton and I enjoy them, I have noticed Marc sneaking and eating them as well!
What are other subjects that you think they should expand to include?
Have you seen these in stores near you?

We were sent the blue and Broxton has had a great time with it.  I had planned on taking it on our vacation, but then with him wanting to take the whole house, I was scared he would lose it and so we chose to leave it at home.  Looking back, I wished I would have let him take it... Just to get our "vacation" from his eyes!

One of the features that Broxton has LOVED?  The camera /video recorder that the SmartWatch comes with!  He has taken pictures of all of his toys and our house... and he has made video recordings of all sorts of things...  I have to pay attention when he is playing with it and I am on the phone, I don't want all my business out there and who knows who all he would plan on showing his recordings too!
Even with him not being able to read yet, the buttons and images are so kid friendly that he was quickly able to figure all of this out himself!  I am not sure the storage, but he has luckily figured out that if he doesn't need or want an image, it is best to go ahead and delete now, versus running out of space. (I also go in and delete things that are just waste too!)
While some kids can be content with things the same for a long time, Broxton is not like that.  (Main reason why we didn't do a "themed" book bag / lunchbox this year.)  An awesome thing with the VTech watch?  You can play one of the 4 games on here --  He has enjoyed the puzzle one a bit..   But you can ALSO download MORE games and different watch displays!
He has been mentioning that he wanted a new watch off and on for a bit now... Not sure where it came from, but this was perfect for him.  There are a good number of display screens to go behind the clock to make it just the way you want it...  Of course, as soon as he saw Aliens, he knew that was what he wanted!
Although the VTech SmartWatch has all the "bells and whistles" of other SmartWatches, it doesn't have a million buttons to learn in order operate it.
We have really had a great time playing with this SmartWatch.  It is geared for ages 4-7, but Broxton says that last time his big brother came (almost 14) that he took over it and started playing on it !
I really liked knowing that it is "Splash Proof"  too!!!
Check this out :  The Kidizoom® Smartwatch is also splash proof, making it perfect for everyday play. (Splash and sweat proof. Do not submerge and not suitable for showering or bathing). More than just a watch, it’s the Kidizoom® Smartwatch.

I will say that I love the color choices, I love the fact that they have different screens to make it more personable for the kid wearing it... I LOVE that it is their own little camera/video recorder...  The absolute BEST for me????
RECHARGEABLE BATTERY comes in it.  I don't know about you, but most toys seem to come with the rule that it MUST SUCK THE LIFE OUT OF ALL BATTERIES... but not this one... This one?  You just plug it up to the USB cord and charge it that way!   I have not looked at the other games offered, but I think that 7 might be a bit to "mature' to have this watch... unless they want it more for the camera/video recorder... I figure no need to check out more games until he gets bored with what is already loaded on there.

I see lots of kids getting this SmartWatch during the holidays... At $59.99, I would not go out and buy it just for the sake of getting one, but I do see it being a great gift... Not only is it a fun and cool TOY --- It helps teach and lets their inner photographer come out!!!
