Volcano Alert! #OctonautsLive was great!

We recently had the opportunity to go and see Octonauts Live in Atlanta.  It was their first tour in the USA and it was great!!!  I was not sure how Savannah was going to do, but her eyes were glued to the stage pretty much the whole time.  It was also our first time at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center and that was a very nice venue and AWESOME for kids!!!!

Parking was easy and once we arrived we hurried inside where they had souvenirs and concessions for sale.  They also had a few photo ops staged, so that was a great way to document the evening.

The show starts and we immediately get to see the characters that the kids know and love.  Captain Barnacles, Medic Peso and Lieutenant Kwazii are there and the kids go NUTS! The characters are all in costume (obviously) but they do have a guy that I noticed was talking to a few in the crowd before the performance that is a huge part of the whole show.

Not the best picture, but I did want to prove that I do go and do things with them, since I am rarely in any photographs.  They tell you no flash photography, so this was taken during intermission.  I will say I was very impressed.  The show said it started at 6 pm and I am 99.9 % certain it started at 6 pm. (I have a very impatient child that has to ask "how much longer" for everything!)  The show ran about 30 minutes, then they had an intermission. I believe it was right at 15 minutes.  Then, the show started back up and I think it went for another 30 minutes.
There was the whole story line (VOLCANO ALERT! VOLCANO ALERT! )  of helping Bob fish find his brothers.  There were sea creatures around and singing lots of songs!

After the show was over, we were invited for a VIP Party and Meet and Greet with a few of the Octonauts.  They had snacks and water for us while we waited for the characters to arrive.  They had a photo booth set up taking photos of the kids that we can download online and then the characters showed up.  While I do wish they offered all of them, they select 2 for the meet and greet. (Not sure how they determine the 2 that night.)  Broxton is really into penguins so we were crossing our fingers to see Peso, but he wasn't there.
Maybe they can have all of them available and when you purchase your Meet and Greet tickets, you have to list 2 that you want your photos with and then you get a pass for those 2 and only those 2?  I don't know.  I like they had Captain Barnacles since he is the leader, but again...
Either way, we had a great time and were thankful to have the chance to go. Just wanted you guys to know that there is not a guarantee that you will see your favorite if you pay to have the Meet and Greet experience.

With Savannah being 1, I was not sure how she would do. Like I said, she did great.  It was long enough that it is worth your time to take the children for a great experience, but it is short enough for little ones that might not want to sit for an extended amount of time.
We had a great time and of course left singing the songs from the event!
I really hope they had success on all of their shows and plan to come back again next year with more shows added. Keeping an eye out to see and let you all know!

Stocking Stuffer or Gift Topper, #Emojiez has you covered! #JBGiftGuide16

You know how Emojiez are all the hype right now?  Broxton (age 7) has no cell phone or anything, but he LOVES getting my phone and sending Emojiez in text messages to my parents and my brother. I honestly don't think he can send a message at all that he doesn't have to add a few Emojiez at the end.  We were sent a selection of their products for review and Broxton had to take the stickers to school to share with his friends.  They loved them and he loved being able to share a smile (literally and figuratively!)  with his friends.

If you are looking for something for Stocking Stuffers this year (or even a cute gift topper for a special someone!)  look at the Emojiez line.  I have seen a few shirts that I want to get for both Broxton and Savannah, but they have so much to choose from!

As soon as the plush arrived, Savannah quickly claimed that for herself.  I thought it was funny how she tried to love on it, so yes, that is her little guy.

As much as I do NOT find poop funny, Broxton was cracking up with these...  He got the poop eraser and took it to school, all the kids were laughing and found it amusing.  I can't wait until he opens up his Christmas and sees that he now has Smelvin, the poop collectible figure.  They have several figures to collect and I love that they each come with a card that tells a bit about them.  Sort of like a baseball card for Emojiez!  If you want to see all the characters, look at the Buddiez link at fun 2 play!

Like I said, there are several Emojiez products to choose from. You can get slap bracelets. (I loved them as a kid, these are just as fun.  Nothing like slapping the slap bracelet on you to take you right back to your youth! )  They also have Wind Up toys, bag tags, erasers, pencil toppers, stickers and so much more!

This is one of the Squishiez.  It comes in a plastic ball.  Come to find out, you can turn the plastic ball into a chair to hold your Squishiez, or you can just pop that joker on a pencil and be super cool!

What emojiez character is your favorite?

Wonder Years - Complete Series #JBGiftGuide16

Yesterday I shared how Season Six of the Wonder Years was available to own... Well, for those that have not purchased each season individually, you also have the option to just purchase the complete series as a whole.

FTC Compliant Review Policy:  The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

For six seasons, The Wonder Years captured the angst of growing up in suburban middle-class America in the late '60s, as seen through the life and times of Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage).  Audiences eagerly followed his evolution as a typical awkward teenager who remembered every moment of his transition from childhood with excruciating detail and remarkable hindsight.  From his first kiss with Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar) to his friendship with Paul Pfeiffer (Josh Saviano) and the ups and downs of the Arnold family, fans shared in laughter, love, and loss, but above all, wonder. THE WONDER YEARS: THE COMPLETE SERIES ($119.95srp) contains all 115 episodes from the six seasons of this landmark series that aired from 1988 to 1993.  Included in this specially-priced slipcase set are complete show notes with episode synopses, cast member reflections, "Current Events," and more plus nearly 12 hours of bonus material, as well as an astounding soundtrack of over 300 classic period songs as they were featured in the original broadcasts featuring such artists as: Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, The Byrds,  Simon & Garfunkel, Aretha Franklin, James Taylor, and of course, Joe Cocker's unforgettable theme.  If you've not yet experienced the wonders of the WONDER YEARS, this holiday season is as good a time as any to acquaint yourself with the groundbreaking family sitcom named by TV Guide as one of the "Top 20 Shows of the '80s".

Be prepared for indoor play with #floof and #sandsalive #JBGiftGuide16

I don't know about your house, but around here the Christmas lists are a bit hard to figure out. I was telling a blog friend of mine that I have started having to write down what I buy each year, as I seem to gravitate towards the same gifts.  Yes, my dad was gracious about it, but he did get a nice grilling set two years in a row.  My brother didn't mention it, but I am pretty sure he got a great knife set two years as well.  I am not 100% on the knives, but I know I went to buy him a set this year and was like, HOLD UP.. I am thinking I got him one before, I came home and looked and yep... been there/done that!
So, what do you do in that situation? You look for great gifts that are new, or at least new to us.  I was lucky that we were sent a couple great gift idea's from Sands Alive and Floof. If you are not familiar with this brand, keep reading... We love it!

Do you know about FLOOF?  It is this light airy concoction.  Sort of like playing with marshmallows, without worrying about getting sticky... or maybe cotton, but I don't know how many people really know how it feels to play with cotton.  Either way, this stuff is great.  It was light and fluffy and we had a great time playing with it.

Broxton (nor I) had ever seen it before, so it took a minute to kind of look it all over.  It comes sort of vacuum sealed in a bag, so you have to open it up and let it all air out.  Then, LOOK OUT!!!!
We received the Cloudy Day kit...  Now that it is finally cold, I really really REALLY want the Mr. and Mrs. Snowman and Polar Babies kits.  They just might end up under the tree this year. (Maybe for mama, who knows?!)

The floof set comes with the actual floof, a roller that has designs in it, a play mat and a cloud mold. We had a blast playing and I feel that it is something Savannah will love when she gets older, but at her age everything goes in her mouth and I am just not up for that yet!
This would be perfect for rainy / snowy days when you are inside.  Let the kids let their creativity soar as they make clouds and have fun with the floof.  Bring out the little figures that they play with for a day of play!

We also had a couple sets of Sands Alive to enjoy.  Unfortunately, my phone has decided to die on me. Like, die die... Like no photos, messages NOTHING transferring over.  Needless to say, lesson learned.  So, we have no photos or video of the Sands Alive.  We had the Treasure Hunt one, super cute and fun.  We also were sent the Sweet Shoppe and gave it to my niece.  She had to open it as soon as she got home and her mom immediately had to send me a picture of her playing in it telling me how awesome they thought it was.
Let me just tell you...
Having a son that used to spend HOURS and HOURS in the sandbox, this is AMAZING.  He was able to play his heart out with it and when it was all said and done, very little cleanup was needed. We have had so much fun playing, as we hide gems in the sand and allow a certain time to find them all.  He has also used it to play with his army men and again, no big messes.  Know what that means? It means I will let him play with it more often and I don't get all frustrated with a big mess at the end of play time.  The kit we had came with a play mat, figures, molds to use, gems and even a treasure chest!
Now, I want to get the ABC's and 123's for Savannah.  Another one? They have GLOW SAND and I really think Broxton would love the Volcano World kit.

I don't know about you, but I think this is all just so super cool!  I think they would make great gifts to go under the tree this year.  It would be fun for rainy / snow days.  Instead of having the children depend on technology all day, they could play with this for hours of entertainment!

The final DVD installment in the series, THE WONDER YEARS: THE COMPLETE SIXTH SEASON contains all 22 episodes from Season 6 (September 23, 1992-May 12, 1993) in their original broadcast versions.  Season 6 finds Kevin and his friends coping with the challenges of high school.  He joins the wrestling team, gets conned by the goof-offs he hires to paint his teacher's house, and preps for the SAT with Paul (Josh Saviano) and Winnie (Danica McKellar).  In the Arnold household, the men endure their annual fishing trip, Norma (Alley Mills) gets a high-paying job, Jack (Dan Lauria) is frustrated by a lukewarm evaluation at work and tries to start his own business, and Wayne (Jason Hervey) has a new girlfriend - who's 23, divorced, and has a baby.  Kevin's delivery job leaves him no time to spend with Winnie, an enthusiastic volunteer with the McGovern campaign.  He sneaks out in his father's new car to try and take her to a Rolling Stones show, frets over what to give her for Christmas and gets in trouble for calling her perfect.  The regular poker game reveals big problems among the guys, but more seriously, after an innocent mistake, Kevin lets everyone believe that he and Winnie spent the night together.  When she leaves to take a lifeguard job at a summer resort, Kevin follows, and while making their way home they take refuge in a barn and spend a very special Independence Day together in the final memorable episode.
This new-to-retail 4 DVD set includes more than two hours of specially-produced bonus features, which includes the one-hour ABC broadcast of the series finale, featurettes and more.  Also included are more than two dozen songs as they were featured in the original broadcast with classics by The Association, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, The Beach Boys, Canned Heat, The Champs, Eddie Cochran, Joe Cocker, Nat King Cole, The Everley Brothers, Marvin Gaye, Lesley Gore, Grateful Dead, Ben E.
