Local Easter Seals Ornament Honors My Granddaddy!!!

Image
This is totally going to be a WORDFUL Wednesday Post... It is about my family and I am so very very proud! Let me give you the run down... Family - My dad's dad used to own a bicycle shop in my hometown.  He owned it for over 40 years and people all over town have memories of getting their bikes from him.  He passed away over 20 years ago, but his memory lives on!!! Easter Seals - I am not sure about everywhere else, but at least in my hometown, each holiday season, Easter Seals of Albany releases a new Christmas Ornament.  They some times have the ornament represent something in the city.  For around 10 years now, I have received one of these beauties for my personal tree.  (They $18 each, that includes shipping and $11 can be written off as a tax write off, if my memory serves me right.)   This year, my mom put a lot of thought into it and decided to write Easter Seals to see if there was anything that could be done to recommend making an ornament ...

You know, there are only 8 more Wednesdays until the Big One...  Anyways, I want to try and have traditions and make wonderful memories with all the boys...   So, a couple years ago, I thought it would be awesome to start a family ornament each year...   I normally wrap it up as a family gift and then they get all excited when I unwrap it and they see it is the newest one...  But this year, since we h...

Special Ornaments for Those Special People #Holidaygiftguide

You know how I told you I like to give the boys a special Christmas ornament each year? This year, I decided that Caleb would be the perfect recipient of the basketball boy ornament that I saw on the Christmas Ornaments website. I went to their website and I had a blast looking at all of the ornaments and thinking of all the people that each one made me think of... Christmas Ornaments website has so many ways that you can search for what you want.  I started by looking at all of the Fairy Tale/ Nursery Rhyme ornaments... then I had to look at all the different occupations that they had listed.  Of course, with all boys, I had to venture over to sports and that was where I found my selection. I will tell you it is a catch 22. I think it is cute... and as soon as Broxton saw it, he immediately asked if it was for Caleb as it looks like his older brother.   BUT - if you look at it all up close (like some people I know do)  you will not be pleased. The paint...

If you know me at all, you know that I love personalized gifts... and photo's are just wonderful for me!!!  I have loved the photo ornaments that we have from the years of the boys... I really love anything to do with pictures... They really are worth a thousand words in my book! I recently had the chance to review for MailPix and they had so much to choose from that I was able to get a couple great gifts!!!!  (Yes, they might be for me.. but still great gifts!!!  I just know how to shop for what I want!  lol!)    MailPix has such a great variety of products.  Not to mention that they are not only great gift ideas, but they seem to have really good prices if you want to get photo prints!  You know one thing I got?  A photo puzzle for Broxton.  I figured it would be something fun to do with him... and something for him to be able to enjoy for years to come.  I went with a picture of him... with his bro...

If you have been around Jumpin Beans for the holidays, you know how much I love tradition...   Also, hopefully you remember one of my traditions is getting a new family ornament each year!   I am totally in love with the speed and quality of the Ornaments from Ornaments With Love...   Lucky for all of us, they were excited about offering a giveaway for one lucky reader!     Each year, we try and pick out a cute family ornament for us to add to our tree... The first year I did it, the boys were so surprised and they kept talking about how much they loved it. So, when I saw how happy that made everyone, I knew it was a new tradition we would do. The original tradition was just a Christmas ornament for each boy, so that way when they grow up and have a tree of their own, they will have ornaments to place on their tree to relive the memories! I will tell you one thing, each year I have such a hard time deciding what personalized family ornament ...

When I was younger, my mom used to give my brother and I Christmas ornaments... My grandmother gave me quite a few as well through the years... Then, when I had my own tree, I actually had a couple to put on.. So, when Marc and I got married, I knew that was something I wanted to do for the boys. It would be nice... Have the different ornaments on our tree, but as they married, give them all of their ornaments through the years to add to their tree... I wanted them to be personal and just for them... One year they got UGA / LSU ones... This year, I found a really cool website that is "The World's Largest Christmas Store." I did not dare to venture to their other products, as I was just looking at the ornaments... With all the ornaments, I was in heaven! I knew if I started looking elsewhere, I would be in trouble... They have it all! Just click on Christmas Ornaments and you see it: Baby and New Parent Licensed Occupations and Hobbies Pet and Animals Religion That is ju...
