Biloxi with kids? Yes! #MakingMemories #hosted

Image
People always seem to look surprised when I tell them we plan a yearly trip to Biloxi.  They are quick to ask, "With your kids?  What do you do?"  So I thought it would be nice to share again just what our Biloxi trip looks like each year.  I have posted before (and shared on INSTAGRAM) but thought I would share a few more pictures from our last trip.

Let me start by saying that I have been going to Biloxi for years.  I love it there and now it is a fun place that my kids look forward to visiting each year as well.  We plan a trip at some point each summer and normally my parents go as well. We make the most out of it, but unfortunately, my parents were not able to go this year.  To catch you all up, mom was diagno…

@BeauBiloxi doesn't disappoint with 2019 #Lunaro #Hosted

Each year, we plan a trip to Biloxi at some part over the summer.  I honestly don't know how many years we have been going, but the Beau Rivage has always been in our lives!  I remember going back when it was on a boat, long before Hurricane Katrina.  Each year we try and do as much fun things as possible and people always ask... "Biloxi, with kids?"  It is surprising how much there is to do there.  Now, don't get me wrong, I love the casino... but there is more there than that!  This year, we planned our trip and I had everything figured out... except the weather!!!  Hurricane Barry headed there at the same time we did... but we still went! Just had to change the plans a bit.  One thing that didn't change?  Us getting to see a great show at "The Beau!"

Newest Release in Walt Disney Signature Collection - #Cinderella #Ad

Image
Being a mom is one of the greatest blessings in my life.  I love my two children more than they will ever know.  Each one brings joy and excitement in what they like and dislike.  Broxton had Disney movies that were/are his favorite and now Savannah is coming more and more into her own as well.  She loves her a wide variety of characters, but it melts this mama's heart when she wants to play princess.  My brother gave her a dress up box of Princess clothes a few years ago and of course her theme for a birthday party was princess last year.  When Disney announced they were releasing an Anniversary Edition of Cinderella, I knew I wanted to add it to the collection.  To say we have watched it once or twice would be an understatement!

We finally saw @Dumbo and loved it. #ad

Image
We have been trying to be better at going to the movies to see all of these wonderful movies that keep being released.  Thing is, it gets rather expensive when you buy the tickets and then what movie watching is complete without drinks and snacks?!?  We had totally planned on going to see Dumbo, but the weekend we got there to get tickets, we realized it had already left the theaters!
I honestly don't know who was more excited to see it... The kids, my mom or myself.  Either way, we were all so excited to learn that we would be getting it for review.  That just turned in to all of us watching the mail to see when it would show up.  We have been dealing with things at home (more on that later) so this was a great distraction for all of us and we were ready for this family movie night!

Crazy Socks and Awareness #wordlesswednesday

Image
One thing I love about living in a smaller town?  Community support.  There have been a few kids that have been sick down here and to say that the community supports them is an understatement.  We have worn yellow for a child, worn super hero shirts for another.  This was crazy sock day for World Down Syndrome Day.  I have told Broxton that although we might not know them personally, it shows that we are thinking and praying for them and their family.  I could not imagine, but it is nice to see the support around town!

Bowling for the win? #wordlesswednesday

Image
I just thought this was too cute.  Her little bowling shoes!
Do you bowl?  Are you good?
Last time we went, I actually started off with like 3 strikes in a row and was pretty impressed, then I got annoyed and from that point on my game went down the gutter, just like my ball.  (Mom Joke, see what I did there?!)

What do you do for fun on the weekends?

We are having a #Giveaway @WonderParkMovie #Ad

There is a particular quote that has stayed with me lately...
"We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.."  Those that know me, know that my kiddos are the most important thing to me.  I really will say that they are my everything and my biggest pride.  We might not do as much as we used to, but one thing for certain is we love, love, LOVE family movie night.  There really is nothing like getting snacks and drinks and then snuggling up to watch a movie with these guys!  I mean, we have plenty of furniture, but they like to sit as close as possible as if we only own 1 chair and that is all we are allowed to sit on!
Recently, we were sent a Wonder Park DVD and family survival kit for review.  I know we planned on seeing it at the movies, but lets be real... It gets rather pricey if we want to go and see ALL the movies that are available.  Also, it isn't as "snuggly" in the theater as it is at home, if I am being totally honest!  The kit was ful…

Coloring in the lines #wordlesswednesday

My little one worked so hard on this at dinner.  She did a great job, in my opinion, and she is only 3!  Maybe she will end up with artistic talent that seems to have skipped her mama!  Funny thing, way before Broxton and Savannah, LOCOS was my hang out spot in Atlanta, now as a mama, we have turned this location into one of our regular spots!

Summer Break calls for #PawPatrol Jungle Adventures! #ad

Image
Okay, now look at this DVD cover and tell me that they aren't the cutest!!!   We love all of those lovable pups, although I think Chase is a favorite with most kids.  Our house loves Skye and Marshall the most!   Always has..  even back when Broxton was a fan of the show!   Savannah has a few of the toys that go with the show and she loves taking them to show and tell at school  That ends up meaning that we have to binge watch Paw Patrol for a while.  I love that we have the DVD's so we can take them in the car on trips... saves on the data usage!

Hanging On #wordlesswednesday

Image
In keeping with the wishes or weeds post from last week, I thought I would share this picture I was able to take.  I call it "hanging on" because if you look, there is still a little guy hanging on!!!!! Do you see it?

Weeds or Wishes? #WORDLESSWEDNESDAY

Image
My dad HATES when he comes by and sees that dandelions are growing in the yard, but that is only because he sees weeds.  I don't mind them and honestly I smile when dandelions start sprouting up.  Why?  Simply put, because I look at things differently.
I don't see "WEEDS."  I see beautiful yellow flowers that makes Savannah smile when she picks them and brings them to me.  I see wishes waiting to be made and the joy and excitement with BOTH of my kiddos when we go outside and pick them, blowing the flowers and making wishes.
We always leave some, as I have told them they need to leave them for the bees, but it is still a fun pastime for us to enjoy and if you follow me on INSTAGRAM at all, you know I am all about #makingmemories

So -
What do you see? Weeds? Wishes?

Kids Parties - Yay or Nay? #WordlessWednesday

Image
I get so frustrated that each year I have a party for Broxton/Savannah and send invitations out.  I would love to have everyone attend, but I know sometimes it just isn't their thing... What annoys me is that most parents don't even bother to RSVP.  I know it should not bother me, but it does.  I normally put my number on the invitation and put to call or text. I know I would much rather text people, so that option is there.   Most parents don't do parties anymore either and that makes me sad.  Honestly, I was getting worried maybe they just did not want to come to my kiddo's party, but then the few we have been invited to, we make it a point to go.  Normally when we get there, we are just one or two of the "friends" that come and there are many treat bags left over where you can tell more kids were invited.  I would just feel HORRIBLE if a child had a party and no friends came, that is why I make it a point to go if at all possible when we are invited.

Back with a #WordlessWednesday post! All about #LEGO

Image
It has been a while since I posted a Word-less/Word-full Wednesday post.  I know I share many pics on my Instagram, but thought I would share some over here.  Sorry if they are some you have seen before, I will try and get better at posting them more regularly here!
If you don't follow me on INSTAGRAM, head on over and give it a "follow"  I will wait!

Since moving back down south, we have had to adjust to the limit of things to do around here.  In Atlanta there was always plenty of stores to go to, plenty of festivals, lots of friends and always an invite with something to do with the blog.  Now don't get me wrong, I love being close to my family.  It is nice that the kids get to see my parents so often and I would not trade that for anything... but it is still totally DIFFERENT than Atlanta.
This is a picture of when the local art museum had a LEGO exhibit.  I thought this was one of the coolest pieces of work the artist had on display.  He had several that were bla…

Paw Patrol - Ultimate Rescue - #AD

Image
Paw Patrol is on a roll!  Paw Patrol Ultimate rescue is one of the latest DVD's that Nickelodeon has released.  I am not sure if I have told you or not, but our cable/internet goes out all of the time.  When the hurricane happened (LAST OCTOBER) we were out for months... They kept sending different people out to repair it, but months and months required us to rely on our collection of DVD's to survive!   Sad, but true... we like background noise, even if we aren't watching it!  Savannah amazes me how she watches the shows, then recreates it with her friends at daycare.  LOVE IT!
