Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. The other day we were able to enjoy a sneak peek of TURBO...    IN 3D. I thought it was super cute... I mean, it is a kids movie... About a snail that wants to race. Marc was not really impressed with it ...   Broxton  on the other hand, had to tell everyone how funny the movie was and that his favorite part was watching the snails and the tomatoes.   I thought it was cute and caught myself laughing several times. (You could hear other adults cracking up as well!) I loved the detail they put into the "cars" for the other racing snails...    Would I go see it again?  For sure!!! This is cute for those with kids that like racing...   SYNOPSIS: Turbo  is a snail who dreams of being the

Panthers and Sumo. Does It Get Better? W/W

Image
For Father's Day Weekend, we went to visit MY dad.   It was great... I had my son, my husband, my dad and my granddaddy all there together!!!   But... that Saturday night, we took the boys to the Panther's Game.  That is the hometown Arena Football Team...   (The 17 year old was already back home at his moms.) No game is ever complete without POPCORN!!!! Not the best of pictures, but still. My honey and my daddy.  Love it.   This makes my heart smile every single time. He knows when to stand... and he salutes. I love this kid!!! Surprise!  I had actually emailed to see if there was any way possible to get the boys to do the SUMO wrestling.  It is always so funny to see them up there.. and I knew they would love it.  Talk about making memories!!!  I just wish I could have captured the facial expressions when they found out they were going to SUMO wrestle on the field.  They were so excited and it was PRICELESS!!! They got out there... and d

BedTime Math Blog Tour

I hosted a book review for Bedtime Math .  I am lucky today to have the chance to work in a Book Tour Blog Posting with the author, Laura Overdeck.  I have never been a fan of math... but my brother and my dad are both great at it... I would love for Broxton to pick up my love of reading, but also the love of math from the two of them.  With that being said, I wanted to do a blog tour of how to get kids into math more!!! Let’s face it: in our culture, math doesn’t have the best image.  Lots of adults are afraid of math or feel they can’t do math, whereas we never hear any educated adult say, “I’m just not good at reading!”  Often adults’ math anxiety traces to a childhood where math wasn’t fun.  They remember math as a dry, tedious school subject that they never grasped comfortably. So how do we avoid this fate with our next generation of budding math fans?  The first step as adults is to show we love math, or at least not advertise that we fear it!  Kids imitate their paren
