Where do you blog?

In my first apartment, we just threw the desk in our "eating area." You know, the little square where you put your dining room furniture... Since you do not have an actual space... It worked, since it wasn't like we were having big get togethers over dinner! My second apartment, I made sure to have a "sun room" and that was where I put my desk. Oh, let me back up.. My first desk, I do not even know where it came from, but I had it a million years! My second desk was a little thrown together thing I picked up from somewhere... Nothing nice like the bush furniture you can see online! Now, we have this big monstrosity of a desk now... So big, it took all the strength Marc and Mark had to move it in.. Plus a hand truck!!! Only thing is, it isn't moving until we do! No rearranging here!!! Marc has said that with the time I am online, he would love for us to have an office space for us whenever we get a house. Meaning, we can go looking for office desks and offi...

Rounded or Squared? Cymax Coffee Tables

Image
I never really gave much thought to coffee tables before, but things changed (as does almost everything) once I became a mom. In my first apartment, I had the funky shaped coffee tables with glass tops. I was an art student, so we painted it art deco and had a blast doing so! It was so cool, as it was our painting and you could look and see it all through the glass tops. Then, I outgrew the art deco phase and wanted more "normal" furniture. I eventually decided that a coffee table took up too much room in my small living room, so I got rid of it completely. When Marc and I got engaged, my parents gave us a beautiful living room set. We had the whole coffee table and end tables set up and it was awesome! After that, Broxton came along and I realized that my mom had the most amazing coffee table for a little one learning to crawl. It was a great heavy wooden one with drawers and the best part? The corners were rounded out! No worrying about him falling into a sharp corner!!...

Barbie has hers, why can't I have mine?

My grandmother had this beautiful corner TV stand in her living room. It was there for as long as I could remember... When she moved into her apartment, she did not take it with her. I asked my mom if I might be able to get that from her, as it was something that I would always remember her by. Then, we got to thinking about it. It was for the corner, I have our TV on the main wall and I would hate to think that I got this from her and would never have anywhere to put it. So, I ended up not worrying about it and she sold it in an Estate Sale. After that, I found out that she had it custom built all those years ago. Granted, I would have loved to have had it, but as I said... We have our TV on the main wall... Top it all off, Marc REALLY wants to get a flat screen TV and I know that means mounting it on the wall, so a corner TV stand would really be useless then! We have this basic TV stand that I bought umpteen years ago... Hey, I even put it together myself, pretty proud accomplishm...

Thinking ahead with Cymax Baby Bedding

Image
One thing I wish I would have thought more about when deciding on Broxton ’s room was what would eventually happen with the furniture when he grew up! I have always said that I wanted to have two children… So, I knew I would need items that would stand the “test of time.” Well, not only that… But I did not want to buy something that was going to fall apart! I had several friends tell me, “You do not need to spend money on a changing table.” I knew that I wanted one… My brother had one, all the other babies I knew had one… Where else was I going to change his diaper and get him dressed? Put the lotion on him after his bath? I know some people use their dresser top for that, but Broxton did not have that kind of dresser. He had the dresser that my Nana gave to me… It was the tall one, that had the top that opened UP.. Not a place to change a baby. But, what would I use it for after that time period? We did think ahead when we were looking at baby cribs though. I knew that the...
