If you have been here before, you know that I love Hallmark.  I love the cards, I love the products, I love their movies and for sure... I love their commercials. With Valentines Day approaching, I new Hallmark would be on my mind. Let me be honest here and say that I could spend HOURS just reading cards in the card aisle of the stores... Yep, I get that from my mom! I remember growing up waking up on Valentines Day... There would be a card from my parents and then a thing of chocolate or some other Valentines gift. I love cards... Love, love, LOVE them!!!! Hallmark has been a well known name in our house as long as I can remember... Seriously.... My mom has one of those card boxes that has separate sections for each occasion.  Yes, I have one now as well :) When we had a Hallmark down the street from us, I would go there on a regular basis.. One, to buy cards (they always have specials like buy 3, get one free and the likes.)  But also because all of the items in Hallmark have the look of showing you care. We actually did some of our Christmas shopping there this year! Are you kidding me?  I think I may have heard it all now... Did you know that Hallmark has recently come out with "text bands?" Yes!!!  Let me try and tell you ... It is these watch like bracelets... You start off with a basic purple or black base..  but they have a good amount of bands so you can buy them and match your personality, style or clothing for the day!  (More than one way to make a statement with these text bands!)  You enter up to 10 characters... and then you bump hands, high five or whatever you want... AND THEN........................ YOUR MESSAGE ENDS UP ON YOUR FRIENDS BRACELET! There is something about the word "Hallmark" that makes me feel like everything is going to be okay. That also includes HALLMARK MOVIES, just in case there was any doubt about that one... You know what I mean?  I know many a female who has spent one day of their life curled up on TV watching Hallmark movies... I recently heard of a new Hallmark Movie, "You've Got a Friend" and I wanted to see it.. It has John Schneider in there, it has to be decent.. Right? I can not say that I was surprised at how heartwarming it was... Since it was Hallmark, I knew it should be... I thought it was a great movie. Basically, a 12 year old boy is suddenly orphaned when both his mom and dad are killed.  He moves in to live with his aunt and uncle... Taking a bus to get there, new town... new life... new everything...  He moves in with them (and you gather that they have never met before this big day... ) He is sort of a day dreamer, well... not really a "day drea...

When Marc was deployed, I wished so bad that we had thought of recording him reading a book to Broxton for us to "read" each night... We just did not think about it.... Until he was already gone. If you know me, or have read a few of my past posts... You will know that my mom initiated the love of snail mail to me. I remember in college, I would get mail from her at least once a week... I was so worried that I would be that college kid that never got mail, but my mom made sure that was never the case... Once I moved and got my own place, she kept up with that as well. Are you one that likes sending and receiving cards? As long as I can remember, my mother has LOVED them! She even has a box of them for all occasions! I remember when I first went off to college, she made it a point to mail me cards all the time... I think that is why I now love them! We used to get cards for every occasion! You name it, we would get a card... She doesn't send as much as she used to, but the main events... ALWAYS. I am sure one reason for the lack of cards is due to postage...
