Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation . When Broxton was around 3 or 4 he decided he wanted to play soccer.  He had never played before, obviously, and was eager to do so.  I am not sure why, but he wanted to, so we said yes.  At that point, we told him we would let him try out all the different sports he wanted to, on one condition. If he committed to play for a team, he had to play that whole season and if he did not like it, he could stop playing it once the season was over.   He played soccer that first season and while he had fun, he decided he wanted to try something else.  He did karate for a bit and I think we all just got a bit tired of that one.  Then, he decided to go out for baseball.  We were lucky to have an ...

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation . I am not sure if you are aware, but there is a football game being played this weekend that is sort of a big deal.  If you are not a football fan, you can still enjoy it because of all of the commercials sprinkled throughout the game.  I will be watching both the commercials and the game, what about you?  Some people go to the parties for neither the game nor the commercials, but they go for the spreads of food that many people have at their party.  What do you have planned to do for that fun Sunday event or is it just another day in your house? As I said, one main thing is all of the food that people do for the big game.  I remember back when I worked in a sports bar.  We had amazing ...

Our Version of SNOW

If you remember, we had a bad time with ICE in a previous winter... Well, ever since that disaster, Atlanta has tried to be cautious.  Some people (especially those further up North) like to make fun of us, but lets be honest... If you are not prepared for it, these "winter storms" can be pretty bad.  This year, they took no chance. Yes, it is funny, but I am NOT making fun.  I will always take the safe way when it involves my children!   My mom was here to visit and was planning on leaving Friday afternoon.  She was even going to surprise Broxton and have lunch with him at school. THEN. THURSDAY. NIGHT. HAPPENED. I received 2 text messages (one from school, one from county)  I received 2 calls on my cell, (again city and county) I received a call on the home phone and then 4 emails. School was going to be closing 2 hours early in preparation for the storm.  Yes, it was a bit excessive, but at least they were prepared and letting parents know in ple...

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation . I may not remember much, but I do remember that Broxton loved Elmo when he was younger.  He loved him so much that his first birthday was "Elmo."  We would watch the show, sing the song...  you name it.  He loved Elmo so much that we would detour to the toy aisle to look at the Elmo dolls each trip to the store.  Yes, Maw-Maw and Papa bought him one so that we could bring the love home.  Being the big ALMOST 7 year old, we have outgrown Elmo days, but with a little sister around, Broxton keeps telling her about his favorites from when he was younger.   We were recently sent Elmo's World - Elmo Wonders on DVD and I have it put up for him to give his little sister for Valentines. ...

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation . Trudeau has so many cool gadgets, you could really make the most memorable day ever using their different products.  I want the egg ring that is shaped like a heart. I know Broxton would be so excited to see breakfast like that one morning. For those creative and romantic, I wanted to share with you what you could purchase to make Valentines so memorable. Start with breakfast in bed... eggs and pancakes shaped like hearts!!!!   Get the day started with a jolt using your bedside espresso maker!  After that, have a great day at work.  Go enjoy dinner out and then come home to settle in.  Have dessert at home with your new fondu pot (or make heart shaped candies) and finish it off with a nice bottl...

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation . Can you believe that Valentines Day is almost here?  Seriously, I know that the days of the year don't change (nor do the hours and minutes in a day)... but good grief, it seems like time is flying by. Maybe because we are so busy that it seems that way?  I am not sure... Anyways, you always hear about "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach" and other sayings like that...   Also, you hear about "love languages"  so my question to you is this... What are your thoughts for Valentines this year? You can go traditional and give chocolate and flowers, or you could take it even further. Why not make a gift basket full of gifts from Trudeau ?  No, I am not saying just give a bunch of ki...
