SPIES IN DISGUISE: BOY IN A TUTU  by Kate Scott  (ages 7–10, adventure and espionage): J oe thought he had the hang of this undercover thing. Sure, he has to dress up as a girl and change his name to “Josie” to keep his family safe, his new friend Sam knows his secret so he at least has someone to talk to… And it’s finally time for Joe and Sam to learn how to be proper spies—gadgets and all! Chapter Books from @skyponypress #ProjectDroid

As many know, we love books here.  I love reading and love reading to my children. Broxton would much rather me read TO him instead of him read, so we are working on that. He is in 2nd grade now and just came home the other day telling me that he has found books he likes!  He wants me to start buying him CHAPTER BOOKS so he can read them.  I pointed out that I had bought plenty of chapter books for him, he just needed to start reading them. The reason I am telling you this?  Sky Pony Press (we have worked with them on books before and are still working on building our library for Savannah with their great titles) has decided to give chapter books a try.  They have two that they have released and both sound pretty amazing.  I think Broxton would love them, so we might have to check these out soon!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing ...

I heard it was Children's Book week, so I wanted to share a couple books that we were recently sent for review.  I am still trying to decide which is my favorite.  They are all three totally different, but each hits a soft spot for me.  With Mothers Day right around the corner, it would make a great gift if you decide you want to give a book or two to the little ones that made you a mom!   I really loved Hypnosis Harry, because it explains that when we say "NO" it isn't just no that we mean, it is so much more!  In Hattie Peck, we learn to never give up and to always follow your dreams.  Finally, My Shadow has been a favorite poem to me for years and years, so I love seeing the poem as...

With Christmas almost here, I have two final Christmas books for you.  (I tell you, every single time I walk in a store, I am tempted to buy even more... we love books!)  These are two that I know will be a hit for years to come. One is for the younger crowd for sure, but will be enjoyed by all ages.  The other is one for every single age you can imagine, aren't we all kids at heart?   Up first is a cute and fun one...  The Runaway Santa  . We loved it as much as we loved The Runaway Pumpkin that we reviewed for Halloween.  In this book, Santa has so much to do and half of the fun of reading it is to see where Mrs. Claus is hiding on each page.  I wish there was a way to capture...

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. Image - Amazon  Boo's Beard is a great book to try and explain to children that everyone is different, but all want to be loved and included.  This book is perfect for children to somewhat start to try and explain autism a bit and to show that there are children out there like them. Maybe they have never met a child on the autism spectrum, or maybe they are on the spectrum and want to know they are not alone. Either way, this is a great book.  Tom is a little boy that has a hard time understanding facial expressions.  He enjoys going to the park with his dog, Boo, but wishes he was included in playing with the other children.   One day, a little girl comes over to see his dog an...
