Hold on to your seats!!!
As a HUGE fan of The Little Mermaid (yes, in my thirties and I will still watch it like its the first time... )
I was so excited to hear that they had released a 2 movie collection of that lovable Mermaid!!!
In the 2 movie collection, we have The Little Mermaid Ariels Beginning... and then The Little Mermaid II Return to the Sea.
We watched the Ariels Beginning the other night...
I was in LOVE!!!!  We get to meet Ariel as just a little young mermaid.... and see her and her sisters.  We get to meet Ariels mom... and see Ariel meet Flounder for the first time!

We have not watched The Return to the Sea yet... but I am planning on watching it soon!
If it is anything near as cute as the first, it will be great!!!
Here is a clip from Return to the Sea:

Remember my post about Percy Jackson?  How I said I had a story to tell you...
Well here we go...
The other night, Broxton and I had an amazing time!!!

We were invited to the Georgia Aquarium to work with the release of the latest Percy Jackson Movie Blu-Ray / DVD  and team up with Project Linus and UPS!!!   What happened?
As I said, we went to the Aquarium... and Broxton was immediately mesmerized!!!
Getting a picture was like pulling teeth, he wanted to look the other way... Wonder why?!
Broxton on the "red carpet"  before the event started...
Hello!!! Stephanie L. Schlund  (of Hunger Games: Catching Fire) was there!!!  Seems that she is really into giving back to charities and those that have an impact towards kids are near and dear to her heart!

Of course, I had to get a picture of the celebrity star... and the star in my life!!!
She was so sweet and totally did not seem to mind getting her picture with him.
We walked into the ballroom and it was awesome seeing how it was decorated.  Not only with the Percy Jackson theme, but it was nice to see a variety of the different blankets that are part of Project Linus.
The awesome part of the evening was that although we were there for the movie release, we were also there to team up with a great charity!!!  They had several tables set up where you could work on a no-sew blanket.  (I was so thankful for the no-sew part, since I would have been totally lost!)   Broxton picked out the blue and white plaid that he wanted to make.  Of course, about 2 ties into it and he was out of there! * He noticed they had an area set up for the kids to watch the movie.  But, lucky for me... the beautiful bright plaid beside me later had Stephanie herself there working beside me to make one!
*** Side note, you all know I love celebrities... It was so awesome to see that she was just a nice and normal person.  We chatted a bit and she even made a comment about Broxton being cute!   I loved that she came and actually made a blanket, not just made an appearance!

Fox and UPS treated us to a wide variety of foods for the night... from sliders to bags of goldfish... cute veggie cups to the BEST tomato soup I have ever had....

What better background could you ask for than to have Beluga whales swimming behind you?

Of course I jumped up to snap a picture of Stephanie L. Schlund working on her blanket for Project Linus.  You know I wouldn't miss that!!
The desserts table - was a huge hit with Broxton!!!!

They even had a table set up for kids to color or do word searches or other activities Percy Jackson related!   We did not see that until we were leaving, but Broxton was so into the movie, it did not matter!

If you are anything like me, you might be curious as to how all of this fit together...
Well,  In the movie - Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters he is on a quest for the "golden fleece"  what better way to team up with a company to do good?  So - Fox worked with UPS and Project Linus for staff of UPS, FOX and local bloggers to make a sort of "golden fleece" of our own to give out..
If you are not familiar with Project Linus, they donate blankets to kids that need their own form of comfort... from losing a parent to being sick...   they really do help kids in need.  Speaking with one of the local chapter members, I learned that they have been there to give blankets out and have heard kids ask if it was something that was there's to keep... as they had never had something that belonged just to them... talk about heart breaking!!!

I love knowing that I was a part of making a kids day brighter... if only for a little while.
Percy Jackson is available now to own... Make sure to grab a copy today for your video library...  and while you're at it, visit Project Linus to learn more!!!!

The Lone Ranger - Available December 17th

A couple of days ago we watched The Lone Ranger.
Talk about a great movie.  Honestly, I knew nothing about The Lone Ranger, prior to the buzz on this one... and let me be honest, I just wanted to see it because Johnny Depp was in it.  I told Marc that I thought Johnny Depp was an amazing actor, no matter what role he is in, he kills it... and for me, The Lone Ranger was no different.
When it first started though, I was totally lost...

I am not so sure what I thought about the flashback from the museum scene to the adventure that tells the story of The Lone Ranger... I know that there has to be symbolism in there some way or another, but it was lost on me...
Besides that (and let me be clear, it was not confusing, as some flash back movies are, it was just a bit of wonder as to why it was made that way...)  I loved the movie.  I was able to get Marc to watch it with me and Broxton would cruise in from time to time... At times he looked like he was totally hooked into it, but then he would go to playing or something else... I will say that he seemed to watch at least 85% of the movie though, so that says something...   I think he might have watched more, but this movie seemed like it was super long.

Are you familiar with The Lone Ranger?
It was about a group of Texas Rangers... and an Indian Tribe.
They have to learn to work together to get things accomplished, versus working independently, as they both seem to want so much more.
I enjoyed it and I am pretty sure that the boys will watch it while they are here... and once again, I will bet that Broxton will stop and watch from time to time again!
This would make an excellent gift for the movie lover on your list!!!

Looking for Branding? Look Into RGU Group

Looking for a great personalized souvenir?  Maybe you own a business?  Maybe you want to buy these for a big event?  Well, when I was at Americas Mart, I learned of a pretty awesome company..
The RGU Group!  They make bulk items for companies.  (Think of like the animals from companies with their logo... Yes, this is them.. but the product isn't some cheap filler item!  It is a good quality product that you would buy individually in a store.)

Broxton now has a teddy bear that he absolutely LOVES...   It says I (heart) RGU!
I was rather impressed with the options...
They have several plush items, Broxtons teddy is from their ZOOVENIR line.
They also have a selection including alligators, frogs, lions, penguins, puppies and so much more!!!
The great thing is that once you make the hard decision of what animal you want to use, then you have 10 color options for the shirt!!!!

RGU group makes more than just stuffed animals.  (Although they are so cute and cuddly!)
They also make itty bitty tees!
Want to know what is so awesome about that?
The can make the itty bitty tee to match the shirt that the animal is wearing in the zoovenir line!
How absolutely AWESOME is that?!

I am not sure how many you have to order, but this might be a great item to think about for your company... Or if you have a kid in a big school, maybe they could work about ordering these for the school?
Just an idea!
I just know that Broxton absolutely loves his teddy and he is actually in the car for road trips right now!!!

Boy, have I got a story to tell you... But not tonight...
I just wanted to let you know that Percy Jackson- Sea Of Monsters will be available to own tomorrow, December 17th.  Now, I have not seen this movie, but I do know that several friends with kids older than Broxton were talking about it being a great series of books/movies, so I am sure more people know about it.  Anyways - The story I want to tell you (but not tonight... maybe Wednesday?)  will tell you more... but, I can say this...  We had a great time tonight... and part of it was a showing of Percy Jackson.  I did not watch it, as I wanted to be able to watch from start to finish... But I know Broxton zoned in and watched while we were there.. and the seating area was covered with kids watching it...  and all seemed totally engrossed watching it.  Bottom line, head out and get it if you want to make smiles this holiday!

Travelling With a Baby? You Need @Steribottle

When Broxton was born, it was hard for us at times...
I tried breast feeding and it did not work for us...  so, we had bottles out the wazoo!
You know hotels don't have stoves (to sterilize the bottles)  and when we were travelling to see Marc (before he deployed) there were many nights in a hotel... What did I do?
I took a TON of bottles with me and was lucky if they had a microwave, I could use my sanitizer...
But, that meant even MORE stuff to carry and that was hard to do...
You know, solo... plus a newborn!!!

Of course, now that Broxton is way beyond bottle years, I learn of Steri-bottle.
Steri-bottle is a single use bottle that is sterilized and ready to go!!!
The packaging has your bottles and the nipples...  each in a sleeve and sanitized, sealed.. ready to be used!  Also, they are distributed under the Tommee Tippee license, so you know I love that!!!
I think this would be a great gift for a new mom...
It doesn't even matter if they are travelling or not, this would be great when they just don't have the time or energy to sterilize a bottle... they could just grab one of these and go!!!
I saw online that one person stated it was great to have on hand in case they had company and the guest needed a bottle.  (Love that idea, even though I did not think about that before!)

If you have little ones in the family...
I think these would be pretty good to have...
(Or you could wrap these up with plane tickets if you wanted to gift someone with a trip!)

I used to laugh at infomercials...
Until I had Broxton...
Now, he thinks that he just HAS to have every single thing he sees on the TV... and you know, he gets it from me... I know it... as I am the same way...
As soon as an infomercial comes on, I zone in and I know that I just need to have it... Because honestly, it would make my life so much better by having it... I just know it...

I have bought a few things that were total jokes, but I have bought a few that were pretty nifty too!
I have also reviewed a couple that make life easier (I still swear by my meatloaf pan!)
We were sent the Wraptastic for review and at first, I thought it was going to be another gimmick.  If you think about it, saran wrap and reynolds foil come with the cutting edge on the box... Right?
Well -  Let me tell you...  I have a hard time with the plastic wrap... It never cuts right, it bunches up..
You name it, issues...
Once the wraptastic arrived, I immediately put the plastic wrap in to try it out...
Then, you just press down on the top... and a perfect cut!
Yes!
This has been a great addition to our kitchen!
I can proudly say that if you are like me and have issues against the cutting side on your plastic wrap...
You need to look into wraptastic.  You can use it for any of the wraps like that... (and it even has a clear window area on top for you to see what is inside, unless you want to label it! )

We Went to a Castle and Met Santa

Until December 21st, those that are in Atlanta can go visit Santa someplace special...
In a CASTLE!!!  That is right, right in Atlanta on Peachtree Street.
Broxton was pretty excited about seeing the Castle and truth be told, I was excited as well... I had never been in there before, so I wanted to check it out!
The "Castle on Peachtree Street" is also known as Rhodes Hall and it is part of the Georgia Trust of Historic Preservation.   During the month of December, it hosts Santa on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and allows for families to make one of a kind memories during the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
You do pay $38 per family, but a benefit is that parking is FREE and that is hard to find pretty much anywhere in Atlanta!

The Castle on Peachtree, also known as Rhodes Hall.

One thing I did like about going to the castle, besides Broxton seeing Santa was the photo opps available.
Of course, the day we went it was raining... had been raining all morning and was not stopping...  So, the picture of Broxton in front of the castle was not a great one and is why it is not on this post.   I did manage to get one of him in front of the windows out front of there... and then I loved the staircase, so I wanted to get a picture of him in front of that... See it with the tree behind him?  Broxton was totally in awe of the stained glass windows that lined the beautiful staircase. (One was a battle scene of some sort with soldiers, so he was of course drawn to that!)

A great thing about going to Rhodes Hall is that you don't just stand in line at a mall to meet Santa.  Here, you make an appointment in advance to see him... Then, once you get there, you have time to look around (like I said, photo opps) and they even have a craft room for the kids.  You get to go in there and pick out one craft.  I had Broxton color a picture while we waited for our appointment and then we went back to make his craft afterwards.

We were called for our appointment time and Broxton headed in to talk to Santa.  It was great, as you did not feel rushed, but they had time to chit chat and do more than just jump up and take a picture.
Broxton had to ask him what his favorite cookie was...
(His answer, the round ones!  I laughed and said sounded like Santa loved ALL cookie flavors!)

Broxton jumped on up for his photo with Santa and I was able to snap one really quick.
In the $38 appointment fee, you get a 5 x 7 to take home.  I will point out, if you want to use your own camera (including phone)  you have to pay a $20 fee.    But, they do offer several picture packages, including a snowglobe and a tree ornament for you to purchase at different prices.

Once our time with Santa was up, we headed to the craft room for Broxton to decide what craft he wanted to make... They had a cute little mouse ( made with felt and a candy cane) or a rudolph (made with your handprints and a brown paper bag) as the craft options for the kids to make.  Broxton went with Rudolph!

After our craft (which I loved that once again there was NO RUSH to do, it was all very laid back and relaxed) we headed out to the snack area.  We had the choice of popcorn (with different seasonings to be added by yourself, you want some) as well as chips, cookies, brownies and BBQ sliders.   I am not sure if they rotate out the snacks each weekend, but our choice was great and broxton absolutely loved the brownie!   They also had a drink selection of tea, lemonade, soda and water.

There was an additional room with yet another Christmas tree that had several tables in there with different Christmas books available for you to read while you were there, but we did not make it into that room.

Once we got home, I asked Broxton if he had a good time...
He said he had fun, but that he wished they would have had games of some sort for them to play... He just really isn't into crafts as much as I am.  I thought it was great, but I did wish they would have had more decorations out front.  (Not that we would have been able to go and take pictures in front, since it was raining on us the whole time...)   He also said he wished they would have had hot chocolate.

A friend asked me what I thought about the $38 fee...
Here is what I think...
Yes, I do believe it is a bit pricey.  No lie, if you are just wanting a picture with Santa to have for your memories, I would totally skip it.  BUT - if you are wanting to create memories... This would be a great place.
- You are seeing Santa in a Castle.
- You make an appointment for your picture, but can stay and actually relax, not feel rushed.
- You get to make a craft while you wait, or after you are finished seeing Santa.
- They have snacks and drinks for you to enjoy.
- Storytelling
- Several different photo opps for you to enjoy.  (Saw many families taking family pictures while they were there.)
- Supporting saving this beautiful historical building.  (Rhodes Hall was built in 1904.)

You can click HERE to learn more about Santa at Rhodes Hall and to make an appointment.
