Take your seat at the head of the table.I want the whole room to know that when my wife speaks, it’s time to sit down and listen. *** Lennox Thanks to my reckless roommate, I’m about two skips away from being homeless. Temp jobs aren’t paying the bills, and now I have to cancel the scuba diving trip I can no longer afford. At least I’ll be spared from my instructor’s tempting smile and rock-hard abs. Dex is wonderful, but he’s only ever treated me like a friend…a really good ...

Dakota's Counter - Pine Mountain Georgia

Image
If you have been here a bit, you might remember, Marr and I took a little weekend road trip and went to Pine Mountain.  We stayed at the CUTEST CABIN EVER... Check out my road trippin post  if you need a refresher.  Here is the link for CABIN AT THE POND PINE MOUNTAIN if you want to rent it and enjoy!   Anyways...we went back to check out DAKOTA'S COUNTER since it is open now... and I tell you, it is only like 10 minutes off the interstate, so pull off for a quick bite and check it out!   So yeah... now that it is open, we made a trip to Atlanta to take care of some things and decided we would venture out to see the place... Had I known it was only 10 minutes off of the interstate, we would have for sure gone before now.  Look how cute it is: As you enter, there are a couple booths and a couple tables inside. You step up to the counter and place your order - grab you a bottled soda and then pick a seat.  A short bit later, your food is deliv...

the deepest end of love

Image
If you know me, you KNOW - I LOVE TO READ!!!!  I told a friend, Books are my love language!  I have books in pretty much every room of the house, some neatly displayed, some stacked ready to be enjoyed!  I constantly have a book wish list and I have to tell Matt NOT to let me buy more books, well, not until I am finished reading all that I have already - he has yet to tell me no, so not much help there!  He feeds the addiction at times, so I am helpless!  I had the pleasure of reading  Lisina Coney's latest - the deepest end of love - and just let me tell you- I love this book series!  The books are beautiful too, so its a win win! Beautiful Ornaments at Joy To The World #Review

Image
To know me is to love me, right?  If you know me, you know I am a sentimental person. I love keepsakes and I am all about something specialized for the recipient.  You might also know I ABSOLUTELY love Christmas ornaments.   Fun fact - I absolutely despise putting up a Christmas tree.  Well, I hate the lights part of it all... but that is why I have a pre-lit tree these days!  But- I get so frustrated in putting on my ornaments.  First of all, I take a trip down memory lane looking and thinking about each and every single one...  Then, it is the making sure they are placed on correctly, spaced out and not all bunched up and all that good stuff.  Now, I just let the kids put them on and it is a conglomerate of ornaments here and there... and that is ALRIGHT with me... it is all about the memories, right?  At one point, we had several trees in our house.  One that was full of all sorts of ornaments, one that was more of the "gol...

Today's Readers, Tomorrows Leaders #taylorswift

Last year my girl jumped on the Taylor Swift fan train and has not stopped since.  She begs me to take her to a concert - sorry, my sweet girl, but mama just cannot afford those tickets!  She wanted to dress as T. Swift for Halloween, but who knows if that is still on the table, I mean, Halloween isn't until the end of October, so who really knows?  She is totally in her Swiftie Era and I am here for it!   Imagine my excitement when I had the chance to get the "Taylor Swift is Life" book for review... ESPECIALLY being that she has to read at least 20 minutes each night for homework...and we all know that you will enjoy reading more, if it is something that interests you!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Travel Smoothly with Essentials you need!

Image
So over the summer we took our family vacation and went to Orlando for a week  We had an amazing time and of course, made lots of memories.  To be honest, it had been a while since we really had a "vacation" so it was much needed and appreciated...  BUT- while on the vacation, we ended up needing a bandaid. I honestly don't remember what for, so it wasn't like it was an emergency, but we needed one and I was shocked to see I did not have one packed at all.  I thought I did, but when I went to look... Nope!  So Matt took off to find one - the little hotel store had some, but it was like $12 for 5 band-aids and I did not not think we needed a band-aid that bad.  Lucky for us, there was a family in the store and the mama had her husband go to their car with Matt and grabbed their first aid kit.  They saved the day that time and it made me think that I really should have a kit of my own.  I mean, hello- family of four, we always could use something fr...

ONYX - makes a great gift for any age

My little girl is growing up.  Yep, I hate to admit it, but she is... She used to want to play video games and cartoons... Now she likes to pamper - and play spa with me.  I love it, but it just goes to show - you can't keep them little for long.   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. She is turning 9 this year- I was surprised when she asked for a squish mallow cake.  We are lucky that one of my close friends is AWESOME at making cakes and makes her what she wants each year...  The other thing she wanted?  Make up and all that fun stuff!   I was lucky to have the chance to work in a review of Onyx with their  Skin Care / Nail Care line.  Savannah and I have both loved it all.  This ...
