Aloha Friday

Photobucket
It's Aloha Friday! I found this on another blog, Two of a kind, working on a full house .
So, since its FRIDAY, it is time to relax!
Answer this simple question, then go and post one of your own....
My question is:
What is something you wished you had known or been told before you became a mom?
My answer is:
WOW! Way to many things to mention, but I can tell you one..
BUY CLOTHES of ALL SIZES! I had a big baby and we had alot of newborn clothes, to big to fit in those! Luckily, other friends gave me 3-6 mo, and 6-9 mo clothes, so we were good to go!
I am going to blog about this subject in the next few days! Would love to hear some of your thoughts!
Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I wish I had known how fast it would go. In the blink of an eye, they're all grown up!

  2. I would want to be told yes, buy a few newborn sizes (not just 0-3 months) - our little one had a HUGE outfit to wear home that first day. Ugh!

I'd want to be told to keep writing down the things they do and say - I did when she was a baby, but haven't in so many months. Now, I am regretting it big time.

  3. I had such a great support system and such great advice from all of my favorite mothers. I'm pretty amazed that I can't think of anything that I wasn't told. LOL, with a mom, and aunt, and a grandmother I guess that's not too amazing.

  4. Definitely a good idea to have lots of different clothes sizes, although Ry fit into his nb stuff and he is 4 months (TODAY!!!) and still fits into 0-3s!

I think that while knowledge is good, maybe it would have been better for me not to read a gajillion books on babies and parenting. I have found that no book in the world can tell me how to raise my son. I have to do what works best for me and my family.

AND you don't need everything you think you need for your baby. Some of it has gone totally unused.

And they spit up and poop and pee on you a lot.....at least mine does!!!!!!

  5. I wish someone had told me about sleep patterns. It was forever a guessing game on bed times, nap times etc.

  6. hi! I found you through this Aloha Friday thing - I love your question!

I wish I would have been told about cloth diapers. I started out when Lizzie was 10 months old....imagine the money savings if I had started sooner!
