Random Tuesday Thoughts

It is Tuesday...
So, randomness it is!
Check out the Un Mom for more!

First things first...
With Marc being deployed, I really, really HATE the fact that postage keeps going up!
Luckily, " Price of First-Class Postage Will Not Change", but the price in shipping will!
I spend, on average, $12 a week on mailing him stuff.
Not that I am complaining, I just wish that they could give a military discount.
I do LOVE the fact that he can mail a letter home for free, mailing a box will still cost..
But, at least a letter is free...

I think I forgot to tell you, I took Broxton to Sams to get his "official Santa" picture... I know, we have a snapshot with him, but with this being his FIRST CHRISTMAS, I wanted the whole, Picture Package deal...
Yep, I was "that mom!"
First of all, Broxton wanted to check out the tree, play in Santa's beard...
Anything and everything, besides look at the camera!
So, I turned into "that mom"...
You know, the one making the silly noises and faces?!
Well, at least I did not start dancing or anything!

Went to check the mail the other day and a golf cart (with a little trailer) pulled up to the house...
Out gets a UPS driver... Coming to deliver a package!
I stopped, did a double take ...
and then I had to ask..
"What did brown do to you that you are in a golf cart?!"
Seems that there are more packages than trucks...
and to insure the fastest delivery, they are taking more of the larger neighborhoods that seem safer and sending them out in golf carts to deliver the packages...
That way, the big trucks can go deliver in more spread out areas!
I like the thought of them being able to work more efficiently that way!

I sure do wish that someone would have made me think about Broxton growing before we hung the stuff on his wall! Not even thinking about it...
We hung his name up above his crib... Now he likes to pull the letters off...
So, we moved it up higher... and yes, we have ALL the holes from the previous arrangement!
UGH!!!!

Happy Tuesday!

  2. I enjoyed this post!
Yes, they really do need to give military families postage and package shipping discounts - for all you do for this country that is the least they can do for you!
Golf carts? WOW! I had never heard of that either....then again I live in the "wider" areas that get the trucks LOL

  4. Talking about Santa pics, we are hoping to go to the historical museum this weekend. They are having family projects and of course Santa will be there. We didn't take Grant last year for his first Christmas, Jeremy didn't feel comfortable because of how little he was, I about did it anyway one day at the mall, but the line was huge.
On the note about the room, that is exactly why we painted a stripe around the room and every thing I put on the wall is not around his crib, I learned from my sister. She put Winnie the Pooh border around the walls and when my youngest Niece was able she started peeling it off the wall! I would take a few holes in the wall verses ripped wall paper!

  5. OMG.... I saw the UPS guy with the golf cart and trailer yesterday, too! I laughed hysterically. It's not as weird here, because we have NEVs in our community (Neighborhood Electric Vehicles), but not usually for UPS. Most of the time they are delivering to MY house - I do almost ALL my shopping online as I hate the malls and have Social Anxiety Disorder.
I SO think the postal service should give military discount, because, just as Annie said, with all they do for our country, it is the LEAST the government could do, maybe even just this time of the year.
    Wishing that Marc could be home with you for Christmas, but I know he is with you in your heart... sending the song "I'll be home for Christmas" to you from me!! {{{Hugs}}}
