Aloha Friday - #68


Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.

Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog.

My question this week:

Does it ever bother you when you ALWAYS comment on certain blogs and they NEVER comment back?

My answer:

It used to..... Now, I just do not comment as often. I feel that if I take the time to comment, you can respond at some point... I know some blogs are bigger than others, but every now and then, I think it is nice! :) That's just me though...

    Ah, very true! I don't expect comments from blogs I occasionally comment on though. But, if I am frequently commenting then yes. I have to admit I am not always good about it myself. Though I try to vist my commenter's blogs often.

    It would if I could keep track, which I cant. Also I am terrible myself at commenting on other blogs. I try, there is just never enough time in the day.

    It does!! These days, I don't bother visiting those who don't reciprocate.

    So glad there are bloggy pallies like you who make a difference in blogosphere.

    Yes. I know some people blog to post and not respond.
    I love blogs that do respond and I visit them most often. They appear to be building community with their readers and I want to be part of that.

    I totally agree with your response!!!! It used to bother me a ton but now I will just read and not comment. Some I just stop reading :) Weird the things we let bother us :)

    Well is did bother me in the beginning. Now I choose who I comment on wisely and just go with the flow. I would love it even if folk would say "hey I stopped by". However I no how long it take to stop and comment. I do love reading the comments though. Have a great day commenting.

    Yes, it used to bother me as well. But, then I gave up. By commenting I am trying to make a connection, so, if they never comment back I take it as they don't want to connect.

    Sometimes. Sometimes I'll get a thank you from someone and an apology. I get really annoyed with hops when people link you to a non-meme post such as a giveaway.

    I agree with you dahlin'.

    I always try to respond and visit the blog that visits me. And even if I don't get to on the same day. I leave it in my email until I can go visit.

    I agree with you. I don't always have time to respond to every comment, but I try! If I leave several comments on a blog and get no response, I generally stop commenting.

    But you never know who you'll meet through blog comments. ;)

    I don't usually respond to comments I get (unless it's an outright question), but I ALWAYS go and read their blog and leave a comment for them there. Does that count?

    I'm with you - I don't expect a response to every comment. But, there are a couple blogs that I have regularly commented on for months or longer and have never received any type of response. It's a little frustrating.

    On the other hand, I hate when someone comments on my blog but their comment is set for that "no-reply comment" thingy...because then it's not as quick and easy to respond to them.

    I always feel like I am always the one visiting and commenting other blogs but never get reciprocated as my blog don't get visited and I don't get good comments. Does this bother me? Not anymore because I like blog hopping, joining memes and commenting on good posts, whether I get reciprocated or not.

    It used to bother me, but not as much anymore...but I don't spend hours commenting on a bajillion blogs like I used to, 'life' always seems to get in the way.

    I rarely reply to comments (unless there's a specific question) but I always make an effort to visit the blog of the commenter and leave a reciprocal comment. It might take me a week to do that, but it does eventually happen! ;)

    I agree! I TRY to visit everyone who comments on my blog (not a huge number, cause I'm new at this). If I don't get a chance to visit their blog, I at least leave a little response. I don't know if I'll be able to that as my blog *hopefully* grows! BTW, I got my email fixed now - thanks for letting me know!

    I agree... I have stopped commenting on a couple of blogs because I just don't have the time to visit everyone. So I use my time to visit those that seem to want to make friends. I do try to respond to everyone that comments on my blog at least with an email if I can't get over to their blog. I really do try to connect with everyone... that is the whole reason I started blogging.

    I guess when I post I have never expected any kind of response. I think commenting at times is my only way to vent or just feel like I have been able to say something without being interrupted. (With seven kids in the house-I get interrupted trying to say "Hi") So, if someone responds or reads my blog that is wonderful but if they don't all is good.
