Chicken Soup for the Soul : Shaping the New You - Review and Giveaway


Most people are familiar with the Chicken Soup books...
They have been around for as long as I can remember and they are branching into more topics...
The latest book that is out there deals with "Shaping the New You."

Now, the thing I like best about this particular book is that it follows the pattern of all the other Chicken Soup Books.
You get the wonderful quotes... (I think that might be what I love most in some of the stories)
You get the 101 Stories...
and yep, you get the cartoons!

Instead of it being one person telling you what you have to do in order to shape up...

My favorite story was Lying to Myself.
The story shared is about someone keeping a food journal that doesn't write it ALL down.
A friend points out that everything you eat needs to be recorded and at the end, the only person you are lying to is yourself.

    I'm a public follower via google friend connect.

    I just hit my 100 pound weight loss milestone (a hundred pounds! I say that not to toot my own horn, but more in an "OMG A HUNDRED FRIGGIN POUNDS WHAT THE HECK HOW DID THAT HAPPEN" way!) and I'd love to check this out. I'll admit that at one point I thought these books were more suited for people like my grandma ( I think she has ALL the "Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul" books!) but I'm interested in this one myself!

    Interesting... we are going thru "Made to Crave" at church now with a small group of us that struggle with food and weight. This may be a another good book to introduce.

Fire Fly Toothbrushes - #giveaway

Is it a hassle to get your younger kids to brush their teeth? Broxton loves it and asks throughout the day if he can go and brush his... Now that he has a new toothbrush!!! We were sent a couple toothbrushes from Fire Fly Toothbrushes and I just love the concept! With Fire Fly, they light up! You just press the button and they light up for a solid minute. What we do here is a little system. First, Broxton brushes his teeth for the first minute. (just a teeny bit of toothpaste) Then, I brush the next minute (once again, minimal toothpaste.) Finally, he gets to brush them a final minute (no toothpaste.) The system is working and his teeth are clean! During the day, when he wants to brush them.. He can, but with no toothpaste. As we all know, it can sometimes be a bit difficult to take the temperature of a sick child. Hey, some adults are known to be big babies... The longer they have to wait, the fussier they become. Well, with the Exergen Temporal Scanner ... Wait is something that can be eliminated! Why do I say that? Just because the wait is merely 2 seconds! During that time, you will already be finished a gift giveaway blog hop, exergen temporal scanner, mom must have, R nd moving on to something else. I really like the ease of the Exergen Thermometer. It has a soft tip on it that you gently swipe across the forehead of your "patient." There are two things that make this stand out compared to others that I have used.
