Swan Princess - Princess Tomorrow Pirate Today - Which would you choose?
Savannah is getting at the age where she will watch a little TV with me. No, she doesn't sit long enough to watch anything long, but that is fine with me. I would rather her be up and moving anyways. I do like to sit with her and watch her expressions when we do watch something on the TV, it is so cute how her little mind works! We were recently sent a box of goodies to enjoy a movie titled, The Swan Princess. Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today. With it being "princess" I knew it was for Savannah and I and not to even ask Broxton to join us. Boy was I wrong...

Our kit arrived and Savannah was excited when we were playing putting the Pirate Eye Patch on. You could tell Broxton was curious as to what all she got and why there was Pirate stuff in there "for a girl!" I had to tell him that a princess could be both... and to remind him that she loves playing with his cars and wrestlers just like he does!
I was excited to see the movie and I will admit, I was a bit skeptical when it started. There were these creatures singing and acting weird. I thought for sure Savannah would be put off by them, but I guess she has not been taught to be scared of them, so they did not bother her. We got to meet the princess, see the Queen and then the real fun started. What would you rather be? Princess? Pirate? Why not both? Who is stopping you????
In the brand new original animated film, Princess Alise is training to be the perfect royal but in her heart all she wants to do is sail the seven seas as a swashbuckling pirate! After setting sail,Princess Alise is shipwrecked and washes ashore on an island where she meets Lucas, a young boy who has been living there by herself. They have to work together to survive and get back to civilization!
As I said, I was wrong. It was a movie that Broxton and Savannah both enjoyed. You get the excitement of the Princess experience and then the thrill of the Pirate experience, but which is more fun? We all enjoyed the movie. If you have a younger child, make sure you take the time to watch it. I am pretty sure you will enjoy it as well!
I think I'd like the pirate. How fun. I blogged about this movie too.
