Do you know who Raye Montague is? #GiftofBooks #ad
I love the fact that I have a boy and a girl. They are so different and it is fun watching both of them learn and grow! I love that there are books out there telling her that she can be anything she wants to be, more than just a princess! We were recently sent a new book to add to our collection and it is one I will be reading again and again with Savannah! I was not familiar with Raye Montague, but we now have a book that tells us all about her!

THE GIRL WITH A MIND FOR MATH introduces Raye Montague, a hidden mastermind who made a huge impact in the US Navy. After touring a German submarine in the early 1940s, young Raye set her sights on becoming an engineer. Little did she know sexism and racial inequality would challenge that dream every step of the way, even keeping her greatest career accomplishment a secret for decades. Through it all, the gifted mathematician persisted―finally gaining her well-deserved title in history: a pioneer who changed the course of ship design forever.
That looks like a fun book. There needs to be more books on math.
