Let's Get Ready to Explore with Dora! #Giveaway

Backpack!  Backpack!!!  I will go ahead and tell you that we never were much on Dora or Diego around here.  I mean, honestly, I thought Diego was her brother...  but when we saw the previews for the Dora Movie, we put that on our list that we just had to watch!  Unfortunately, we had a few set backs and didn't make it to the movies, but I was thrilled at the chance to have a movie night at home with the kids and watch!  (Oh, and to learn that Diego is actually her COUSIN.  oops!)

Broxton is at the age now where it is "girl stuff" and he doesn't think ANY-THING-AT-ALL IS COOL if Savannah likes it.  When I told them we were going to watch Dora and the Lost City of Gold, he looked at me like I had lost my mind.  I mean, Dora is a kids show and it is a GIRL.  Then, I reminded him of the previews and how we were cracking up.  I also offered him popcorn, so then he was all about that family movie night!

We were actually sent a "young explorer kit" for Savannah to use and enjoy on our adventures!   You know, a girl can never be too prepared!  Just look at Dora!   We had to check out all of the cool new gadgets to get ready for our movie night... then... Popcorn and movie time!
Like I said,  I didn't know much about Dora so we don't really have much to base it on as far as comparison of the TV show.  We did like that it had funny parts that all different ages could enjoy.  Broxton was caught laughing from time to time and while he won't admit it, I think he enjoyed it.  Savannah was giggling and could not take her eyes off of the movie the whole time.  I was able to guess some of the things before they happened, but hello... this is a kids movie, not a crime show!
All in all, I am glad we have this and I know that it will be in the car for any of the road trips that we have coming up.  Both kids can watch and enjoy and I don't have to worry about any arguing! Talk about a winning situation!

Speaking of winning...

Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner, Instant Family) for her biggest challenge yet – high school. When her parents mysteriously disappear while searching for the Lost City of Gold, Dora must swing into action and lead a group of ill-equipped high schoolers on a wild quest to save them. Hold on for a high stakes mission as Dora and her new friends navigate the jungle, outrun treasure hunters, and solve ancient puzzles to unlock the mystery of the fabled city.

DORA AND THE LOST CITY OF GOLD also stars Eugenio Derbez, Michael Peña, Eva Longoria, and Danny Trejo.
