SuperMarket Sweeps
Do you remember that TV show?
Well...
He goes grocery shopping on Sundays...
I made the mistake..
Okay, SERIOUSLY...........
NO ONE TOLD ME that Super Market Sweeps were holding auditions that day....
We get there...
Ready?
Either way, we won!
We went...
He grabs and goes..
over and over...
You know those ribbons that you get from the craft store?
Yeah, I bought one for him, it hangs on the fridge..
You know...
They got the grocery cart and then they had a time limit...
They had to go and get as much as they could... and the one with the HIGHEST total won?
Remember?
Remember?
They would go to the meat aisle and stock up on the steaks or sometimes the detergent?
They would get all the expensive items?
and remember they had the over sized BONUS items?
and it was timed...
Like they had a minute to do ALL the grocery shopping?
Well...
Let me just tell you.................
DO NOT EVER GO GROCERY SHOPPING WITH MY DAD!
Seriously...
I am just telling you now...
He goes grocery shopping on Sundays...
I made the mistake..
YEP!
I asked him why he always went alone...
So, Broxton and I loaded up to go on the adventure.
Okay, SERIOUSLY...........
NO ONE TOLD ME that Super Market Sweeps were holding auditions that day....
Are you ready?
We get there...
I get a buggy
(yes, that is what I call a grocery cart... a BUGGY)
(yes, that is what I call a grocery cart... a BUGGY)
I load Broxton and his carrier in our buggy...
Dad got HIS buggy...
Ready?
Set...
GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and we were off...
I could not tell if we were on Super Market Sweeps...
Or if we were on invisible horses racing for the triple crown...
Or if we were on invisible horses racing for the triple crown...
Either way, we won!
We went...
in the fruit aisle...
Oh yeah, dad even leaves his buggy at the end of the aisle and goes up and down, bringing the stuff back to his buggy..
then we go to the next aisle..
EVERY
SINGLE
AISLE
SINGLE
AISLE
same thing, leaves the buggy and gets what he needs..
Still unsure about why...
Still unsure about why...
He grabs and goes..
over and over...
but, as he goes to the next aisle, he has to rearrange the items in there...
I ask him why and he has to halfway explain to me that he is rearranging so that he has room for the toilet paper and cokes...
I even remind him of the rack on the bottom for those items, but nope...
ONLY THE BUGGY.......
then we race to the register...
He even makes the comment about " I see one that's open"
Ummmmm, we made it out of there in like 15 minutes.
He even makes the comment about " I see one that's open"
Ummmmm, we made it out of there in like 15 minutes.
I am not even joking and that included loading the groceries in the car and returning the buggy...
You know those ribbons that you get from the craft store?
Like the first place ones?
Yeah, I bought one for him, it hangs on the fridge..
and the back says he is NUMBER ONE...
For speed shopping...
I love him, but if I wanted to work out, I would have gone to the gym.
Needless to say, that is THE LAST TIME we went grocery shopping together.
That's too funny!I only wish I could get in and out in 15 minutes with coupons... it takes that long for the cashier to tally the stinkin coupons. lol
ReplyDeleteLOL We watched "Supermarket Sweep" all the time--even strategized about what we'd do if we were contestants--so I know what you mean. In real life, though, I never shop that way!
ReplyDeleteHey, Noelle - Can you teach me how to number the comments in Blogger? I've seen it on some blogs, but I haven't set it up on mine.
ReplyDeleteI used to be addicted to that show. There was also one where they shopped in this crazy mall thing for packages and then they'd open the package to see what it was and then they'd sometimes trade those in for other ones. Do I even make sense here?
ReplyDeleteBut, your dad must have grocery shopping down to a science to be able to get it done so efficiently like that!
