Joy of Soap - Review and Giveaway
I was lucky enough to be able to review a couple of soaps from "The Joy of Soap."
Melissa sent me 3 different soaps to try and of the two I have reviewed, I love it! I have not reviewed the 3rd one, "Manly Man" because I am waiting on Marc to get home to check this one out... Although, be the description online and the smell, I might just have to give it a try myself!
The two I have reviewed are:
I really liked the Wild Hair Shaving Soap. As I first used it, I was trying to figure out a way to describe it. You know how your skin feels when you first apply lotion? Like the moisture is being absorbed and the dryness is going away, leaving a smooth soft touch? Well, that is how this feels as you are lathering up! It doesn't have a "soapy" residue that most have. When I shave, I hate using soap, I normally use lotion or conditioner! But, now, I think that might be getting ready to change! Marc shaves his head, and being in the ARMY, that means a clean face and fresh shaved head ALL the time, so... We normally go through plenty of lotion just with him shaving! I can not wait to see how he likes this! We might have to go to a his and hers with the shaving soap!
In addition to the dry atmosphere on airplanes, commercially made soaps placed in hotel bathrooms add to skin dehydration. All of our natural soap is hand crafted, hand cut and hand wrapped in small batches, using certified organic oils, therapeutic grade essential oils and ingredients that are gentle on your skin. Our smaller size soap is perfect for work or pleasure trips enabling you to nurture your skin while away from home and be conscious of the environment by eliminating the need to dispose of hotel soaps and packaging. Take my soaps with you in a handy container on every trip and always enjoy the nurturing results of The Joy of Soap natural, organic ingredients.
Customers have been asking for other bath and skin care products, and based on suggestions and feedback we are working on a line of bath and skin care products that will help you to develop your own daily cleansing and bathing rituals using gentle and nourishing oils and botanicals that leave your skin clean, refreshed and rejuvenated, and that provide you with a daily indulgence to restore and increase your well being.

The two I have reviewed are:
Elizabeth's Wild Hair Shaving Soap
Developed by Elizabeth, a top-notch acupuncturist, this unique shaving soap incorporates the medicinal qualities of willow bark to tame those wild hairs which are so difficult to shave. And, you won't experience any painful razor bumps afterwards. Peppermint acts to energize and restore the senses.
Feeling Frisky
Our own classic scent, this clever mixture of tangerine, grapefruit and lime with calendula flower petals evokes the sensation of an invigorating spa treatment. Perfect to be shared with someone you love. Grapefruit oil has a cleansing and toning effect, while tangerine oil helps to increase circulation to the skin. Calendula is long known to promote healthy, younger-looking skin.

The Feeling Frisky has a nice scent as well! When I first opened the package, I thought "whoa! Sensory overload!" but once I actually removed the soap from the package and smelled each individual soap, I knew it was just because of it being boxed up to ship. The scent is not strong enough to blow you away, but it is strong enough to let you know it is there.
Now, to tell you a little about "The Joy of Soap"
Here is the About Us info taken from their website:
About Our Natural Skin Care Products
The Joy of Soap was created as a result of my many years spent traveling for work, which can be fun and exciting but hard on your skin. I always had trouble finding soaps that were not full of skin-drying chemicals and ultimately decided the way to get the finest possible soap was to start making my own using natural ingredients and old fashioned craftsmanship. From this The Joy of Soap was born.In addition to the dry atmosphere on airplanes, commercially made soaps placed in hotel bathrooms add to skin dehydration. All of our natural soap is hand crafted, hand cut and hand wrapped in small batches, using certified organic oils, therapeutic grade essential oils and ingredients that are gentle on your skin.
