Snow Day 3 = ICE DAY = NO FUN

Just wanted to post a quick update...
Marc is OKAY, but thanks to the ICE, he was in an accident...
He spun out of control and ended up on a pole ...

( He had to call to ask what to do about the car, they were saying if no one was injured not to even call them.. be he had to)
While he was waiting on the police, I started searching for a tow company that was open.
They all were closed, not able to get the drivers to work.
Finally had one that was there...
They showed up and pulled the car off.
Oh, he says the police had chains on his tires and he was still spinning and having a hard time on the road getting to Marc!
Marc was able to drive it home...
This is what it looks like:

So glad he is safe...
But, I am ready for the ICE to leave.
It is funny, people think that we are just stupid down here for not knowing how to drive in snow..
It isn't the SNOW that is the problem, it is the ICE that is causing accidents...
Top it off that the city is not prepared... Okay, not just the city...
The state isn't.

  1. Oh, no. Glad he's okay.

My husband keeps saying "work isn't closed" and I say, if school buses can't drive, then neither can you....I might have to show this picture to prove my point.

  2. So glad he's okay! We get ice like that here, too, but our government (local, county, state) is probably more prepared to deal with it. Still, there are days when we don't go out because it's not safe.

Krystyn's comment hits home for me, too. My husband's workplace never closes, but we have decided that it's worth staying home--even if it costs a precious vacation day.

  3. This is my biggest fear!!! And him getting hurt! I'm so glad that Marc was okay!!!!

David was right back out in it today. Nasty out there - the freezing rain that came yesterday afternoon and night has left ice on top of all the powdery snow - making it so much worse now. Our street is a solid sheet of ice - hard to even go out and play in it now - too icy.

  4. I am SO glad he's ok! I can't believe that tow companies don't have employees on. This would be prime time for them...you'd think they'd do anything and everything to man those places!

  5. I am glad he is safe. JDaniel3 has been home with us for two days. His company is open, but told everyone to say home the roads were too dangerous. We played yesterday outside before the snow and tried today. It was too slippery

  9. OMG, SO glad Marc is OK... I gasped when you said he hit a pole, even after you said he was OK... that's what happens when you worry about family.
The poor car, just what you need. Hope it's not too expensive to fix. I know what you mean about driving on ice - nobody can do it, it's just imposible, everyone should just stay home and cuddle.
Be safe my friends, and give Marc and extra big hug for me.
