In Time for #Easter - Rise of the Guardians

Last year, Broxton saw a preview for the movie, Rise of the Guardians....
That started him wanting to see the movie.  We never made it to the theater to watch it, so when he started seeing the advertisements for it being released on DVD (March 12th, 2013) I knew we would be trying to see it soon.  I will admit, I also wanted to see the Movie, it just had something that drew me to it...

We had the chance to review it and I am telling you..
This is a MUST HAVE for any Easter gift you might be thinking...
We tried watching it the other night with my family and I just could not get into it...
I was totally lost...   I was starting to think that I was going to be disappointed in the movie.  We turned it off with all plans for me to watch it later...
Once Broxton and I returned home, I put it on again...
This time with the caption on too, as I was having a hard time hearing it.  I am not sure if it was just because it was turned down low at my parents house or what, but I was missing something.
Once the caption was on, I was good to go.
I was able to understand everything that had totally flown over my head the time we tried to watch it before... Broxton would watch, then run off to play, then back to watch, then run and play again, but I was zoned into the movie...

Rise of the Guardians was actually a great movie.
It takes the "Guardians" and they have to work together to help make sure that the kids all believe.
We get to see Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Sandman, the Man in the Moon and Jack Frost.
(The bad guy in the movie is the Boogie Man.)  I will say, there were a couple scenes where the Boogie Man had Broxton turning towards me... It is not that scary, but it is not all happy-happy-joy-joy the whole time either....  I did like that there were a couple of underlying morals to go along with the movie so that you have plenty to talk about when the movie is over!!!!
I loved seeing the "guardians" work together.. and it was so cute to see how each of them work to complete what is needed to be done for their particular holiday.  I LOVED the little fairies for the Tooth Fairy, but I will admit, the Easter Bunny getting ready for Easter and getting all the eggs together was pretty awesome... Once you watch the movie, you will totally understand the hopping eggs that you get when you purchase the DVD.
This movie is being released just in time for Easter (March 12, 2013) but Broxton gets to celebrate early as they not only sent us the movie for review, they also sent a couple treats to get Broxton all excited.
FYI - they achieved maximum excitement, as he was ready to go as more and more treats came out of the bag!!!

  1. It sounds like a fun movie. I think my kids saw it with someone. I'm not sure if my parents took them, or Daddy. They liked it. I remember we made something from the movie at Lowes Clinic.

The Boogie Man though...Isaak's afraid of him. Not from the movie, but from my Dad. My Dad always says to them, "The Boogie Man is going to get you if you go down there!" Yep he's never had a filter on scaring little kids. When I was little he let me watch a scary movie. I was scared to go to bed. My Mom was so mad at him. He made it worse. One night he got under my bed and came out from under it. He's crazy like that.
