I mentioned before how I like to "travel" and visit places by checking them out online... Well, I can now add a new mode of "transportation" to my list.  While watching the Smithsonian Channel of Aerial America (Southeast Collection)  DVD, I was able to visit my home state of Georgia and the surrounding Southern States such as Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina.   You don't have to sit and watch the whole DVD at once,  you can click on the menu and pick the state you want to check out when you are ready.  Of course, we went with Georgia first and it was nice to see that they not only mention the coastal area's but also highlight the capital and many places all over the state.  Some we have been to, others are now on our " to visit" list, especially since Broxton stopped playing with his toys to check out the DVD!
I felt that this was not only an educational video telling us of places in the south, but it was entertaining to learn (in a fun way) of the history and surrounding areas!
I think this would be great not only for a personal collection, but it would be great to have in schools on hand for teachers to use when needed!

Aerial America: Southeast Collection offers you a first class, window-seat view of the South’s breathtaking landscapes and landmarks while exploring its compelling, complex past. Our journey takes you through North Carolina’s barrier islands and First in Flight history, South Carolina’s elegant charms and extraordinary past, and Georgia’s hot cities and haunted graves. Flights over Mississippi and Alabama reveal where Civil War battles were lost and the Civil Rights Movement was born, while Florida shows off its stunning beaches, lavish lifestyles, and magical world.

*** You can purchase this DVD and others like it at Barnes and Noble, Amazon or Best Buy.

  2. I'd love to use this as a way to learn about places I'm interested to know more about, and also for sure any place I want to visit, as I like to really know all about it!
