The month of February brought much fun here.  We had a 21st birthday, an 8th birthday, Valentines and even a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.  The 8 year old is into building things (still, thank goodness) so when I opened up the February Loot Crate, I knew it was going to be a great gift!  Oh, lets not forget that you can turn this months box into a Robot!!!  Score, yet again! I love reading to Broxton and Savannah.  Luckily, they still enjoy me reading to them! Opinions expressed are my own and are not influenced by monetary compensation Savannah is one and a half, so we are all about learning books. Counting, alphabet, shapes and colors. When the latest book arrived on our doorstep, we were thrilled.  Just so you know, Animal Colors and more is far from your average color book.  Most books have "red, orange, blue" basic colors.  Wel...

Smarter Spring Cleaning Strategies

I know its hard to get Broxton to clean up these days. When he does, his definition of "clean" versus mine is a bit off, so I was looking for fun ways for us to work together and get into "SPRING CLEANING."  I was happy to have a guest post  to share with you a few ideas! Smarter Spring Cleaning Strategies Start with Having the Kids Help By: BusyKid CEO Gregg Murset Spring is just around the corner, which means it’s time to clean. From organizing closets to washing windows, dusting baseboards, cleaning inside, behind and under appliances, vacuuming air vents, and freshening up the yard, the list of chores that need to be done around the house is exhausting and endless. According to the Center For Parenting Education, children who regularly do chores are better able to deal with frustration; delay gratification; have higher self-esteem and are more responsible compared to children who don't help out with chores. Instead of parents trying to tackle all o...

Littles Lables Upscale Consignment

Image
This past weekend we were invited to a blogger brunch to check out the store, Labels Littles.  It is an upscale consignment store that has brands "from Gap to Gucci."  That was what they said a few different times, so that tells you the brands you will be seeing in their store. Located at 3208 Paces Ferry Place in Atlanta, Georgia, you arrive to find several different buildings that all have the same LABEL sign.  They not only have Labels Littles consignment, they also have men's and women's consignment as well.   It was a great brunch talking with the owners and staff of this store. They were awesome enough to even give us tips! Want me to share one? Always ask for a discount.  They will try their best to give you a lower price!!   Also, its best to shop at the end of the month. They are always trying to get new items in, so the end of the month is the best time for you as the shopper!  They carry all children sizes, so that means you can...

Throw Me Something, Mister! We went to #NewOrleans for #MardiGras

Image
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that we were recently in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. I was a first timer and let me tell you, it was so much fun. Let me clear up one thing now...  I had Savannah (1) and Broxton  (8) and it was totally okay.  Mardi Gras isn't just what you see on TV.  We walked through the Quarter (during the day) and it was fine too.  I think there are some things that are best left for the older crowd, but it was great for kids and mine weren't the only ones there, just so everyone knows.   Broxton was so excited to see that sign!!! Heads up... They have these carts ALL OVER the place before the parades.  I was surprised they didn't try pushing it more on the kids, but they were there... and it was hard to miss ALL OF THEM.   We managed to get to see several parades.  It was neat, you wait and wait and wait...  then their cable truck comes through with a big pole.  I was told it was to make...
