Great Battles for Boys - American Revolution #BookReview

Image
Broxton used to love to read. He would always have a book in his hand, but then around 4th grade, that changed and he is no longer a fan of books.  I have noticed him slowly getting back into reading, but it is mostly books about military and history.  He has always been a fan of military history, so when I find books that might grab his attention, I am always eager to see if it will be enjoyed by him!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. From Concord and Lexington to Brandywine and Yorktown, the stunning battles show young readers how ragtag colonists took on the world’s mightiest military of its time — the British Imperial Army, otherwise known as the Red Coats. History leaps off the page and captures even reluctant re...

Thicken Your Hair with @Pura_Dor #Haircare #review

The end of last year was pretty rough for me...  That is to be shared another day on another post... but the point of this one is this... I ended up in the hospital for pretty much most of December.  I had emergency surgery and thank goodness I was able to be home for Christmas with my babies...  While all of that was going on, I didn't think about much but getting out and getting well and getting back to my kiddos.  Once I was out and back at work, it hit me... I had lost a good amount of my hair.  I have always had VERY THICK HAIR - to the point that whenever I get a hair cut we always thin it.. and then thin it once more..    It would take ages to dry and boy was it hot!!!! Like I said, I was home and healing and I noticed that it didn't take me but a few minutes to dry my hair, it wasn't a big pony tail when I pulled it back and oh my gosh it was so thin!   I asked a few friends what was going on as I was concerned... I mean, if I noticed...

Reversible Unicorn Plushies? @teeturtle Does It Again!!! #review #giftguide

I don't know how things are in your area... but around here... We have 2 things for certain...  For her - UNICORNS ARE LIFE.  For him - HOODIES ARE LIFE.   It doesn't matter what : UNICORN makes it better... snacks, clothes, toys, stationary... You name it...If you throw a unicorn on or in it, the world seems better!   For him, it can be in the 50's or in the 90's and you better believe a hoodie is near by!    When I saw the plush octopus that would show happy vs not happy, I thought, Lord help us, if she sees a unicorn one, it is over... IT WILL BE A MUST HAVE... Low and behold what shows up at our door for review?  ( I do have to admit, it is cute and I feel like I need one for work!!!!)   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. As the holidays approach - Keep @LootCrate in mind! #Review #GiftGuide

Though the years, I have had the opportunity to check out many subscription boxes. Some I have been lucky enough to review, others I have purchased and some I have seen/ heard friends speak of.  Through all the different boxes I have seen, one of the ones that always sticks out to me is LootCrate.  I was lucky enough to work with them for a while and YEARS later, I still talk about those boxes!  With Loot Crate, you get so much...  First thing, that I thought was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME was the box -  You get a black box in the mail, open it and it is full of goodies.. but that isn't it.  You take the box apart and turn it inside out / right side in, however you want to call it... either way, the plain box you get in the mail is FAR FROM plain now!   We used them for decoration / storage and they really hold up!    FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufact...

SharkBite #Ad #GameNight

Update - here we are years later and while Broxton won't play with us as much as he used to.... Teenagers!  Savannah will pull this out of our game stash from time to time and we will giggle playing!  Time to make it a game night again soon! We love doing things as a family... and hope to enjoy it for a while, but I know that soon enough he will be a tween/ teen and the times of spending family time will be further and further apart.  We were sent SHARK BITE by Pressman Toy for review and I will tell you, the laughs and the giggles make my heart happy!   With this game, you set it up and put the plastic pieces in the shark... then you roll the dice and go fishing... but watch out... sooner or later, the shark will bite and it will snap right on your fingers/ hand.  Don't worry, the bite doesn't hurt, but I will admit it startles you a bit just enough to get you laughing!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this r...

DC League of SuperPets #ad #movienight

As with so many previews, they are hilarious...  When we saw the previews for DC LEAGUE OF SUPERPETS, we knew we wanted to watch it... One - we LOVE The Rock and Kevin Hart - Two - we ABSOLUTELY love the two of them together - Three- we love movies - Four- We love animated movies - and Five - we love DC Characters!!!! I will be honest, I was a bit disappointed.  I was expecting more of a comedy.  Especially with the previews we were shown.  It was funny and cute and all that good stuff, but it had more of a friendship storyline behind it than I was prepared for.  Don't get me wrong - GOOD movie, and the kids loved it.. but I don't know if I didn't pay attention enough to the previews or what, but again, it wasn't a silly comedy the whole thing like I thought I was getting into.   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole pu...

100 Things to Do in Athens Georgia Before You Die - #AD #BookReview #GODAWGS

If you know me at all... or if you follow me on Instagram... you know I LOVE MY DAWGS!!! My dad and my brother both went to the University of Georgia (I went to an art school, so no football teams!)  Down here in the south COLLEGE FOOTBALL is a way of life... for the most part, you play it or you at least watch it... and you have your team... and it is normally a BIG DEAL!  Before I was married and had kids, I worked in a sports bar... we were a Gator bar ( BIG RIVAL, we don't do sports teams that have orange in their logo! lol)  But most of the employees were Bulldawgs... Football season was always a good time for us... as far as having fun and making money!  Growing up, I have been to some of the home games... and always have fun. We had a great time in Athens when my brother graduated and have been there on several occasions.  Truth is, for the games, it has always been a go up and back kind of thing, so when I was given the chance to review the book, 1...
