Just a little thought...

Have you ever noticed that sometimes time goes really really fast, yet other times it goes so slow it seems like forever?
I know to me, it seems like just yesterday that Broxton was born and he turned ONE last month!
But, at the same time... It seems like a million years since Marc was home... and he left for Afghanistan in June.
It is just so weird to me.
I sit here and think of how much my life has changed in the past year.
I mean, before Broxton, I worked in a bar... I worked mostly nights, so I went in at 4:45 and stayed till midnight or later...
Now, I am a mommy! I love this, it is just wonderful and as I sit and watch Broxton, I ask myself how I ever had fun before him. I mean, I can not imagine my life without him in it!
Sometimes, we sit and do nothing but just laugh and laugh and it cracks me up how the little things make him laugh! I was shaking a plastic bag the other day (to put trash in it) and he just thought I was doing the FUNNIEST thing!
He really is my joy. I am such a lucky mom and I know it!

  1. What a sweet post. I often think of that too. I wonder what I even did before Lauryn. My life has never been such full of joy.

  2. Isn't it amazing how things change? I used to manage a bar, and now at five at night when I am settling in with my kids, I remember how my day was just starting. My favorite time is still the same....but for different reasons. I used to love 10 for the action, nightlife, getting ready to go out. Now I love it for cuddling in bed with my kiddo's and watching t.v.

  3. Plastic bags are very popular at my house too.

  4. Awww, I miss ya'll! I was having such a good time with Grant last night myself. He didn't nap at day care which is amazing, he always naps?! So he fell asleep in my arms watching TV, this never happens! And during the little bit of time we have after dinner and before his bedtime we played so much! He loves playing catch me if you can, and his other favorite and running and making you fall over on the floor! Children are God's blessing to us! To be that innocent is priceless!

  5. What a beautiful post... it brought back memories. Nikolaus used to laugh hysterically when I shook out the garbage bag before putting it in the trash can. You had me remembering that wonderful laugh, and now here he is not too far from where your Marc is in Afghanistan. Things have a funny way of coming full circle.
I think we were meant to become friends! :-)

  6. This time, when they are that age, is so precious. My favorite thing about when my kids were quite young was when they would laugh like loons. You know the laugh....you start to wonder if they can breath because it's non stop and so complete :) Of course, although mine are now 9 and 14-going-on-25, they are still pretty kooky.
    Stay strong, Mama.
