Superbaby - Book Review

Know someone who is pregnant?
Know a mom to one under 3?

Then, I have just the book for you!!!
I have been reviewing Superbaby by Dr. Jenn Berman and I really enjoy it!
I did not pick it up and start from the beginning, I have been jumping all over the place!

This book includes "12 ways to give your child a head start in the first 3 years."

Superbaby has a little of this and a little of that.
There are 12 Chapters that breakdown the steps/

Talk the Talk - Respectful Communication
You Got Me - Responding to Cues
Tick Tock - Creating Security and Predictability
Let Your Fingers Do the Walking - The Importance of Touch
More Than Chitchat - Promoting Language Development
Talk to the Hand - Sign Language
Babies without Borders - Foreign Language
Baby Got Book - Reading
A Different Kind of Toy Story - The Importance of Play
Thinking Outside the Box - Screen Time
It's Easy Being Green - Reducing Exposure to Toxic Chemicals
Food for Thought - Eating and Nutrition

Add to it:
Appendix A - Child Care
Appendix B - Preschool
Appendix C- Sample Baby Schedules
Appendix D - Reducing the Risk of SIDS

I think one of the main things I enjoy about this book is the layout.
Instead of being a cut and dry book... It has the feel along the lines of an Outline...
(A very detailed outline, but still... there are boxes and key points... so on and so forth)

There are boxes filled with information.
Top Ten Lists.
Even sections "from the expert."

In some area's you even have Pro/Con lists...

I have picked this up dozens of times and read bits and pieces.
I can not wait for Broxton to take longer naps so that I can get things done around the house... and then enjoy reading more of this!
I really want to start at page one and work my way through the whole book..
From start to finish!
Superbaby is like one of those books that you have read dozens of times that still calls your name!
It is calling me to read it all and I am so ready to do so!!!!

Of course, as much as I love reading (and want to pass that love to Broxton) my favorite section is the "Baby Got Book - Reading" one...
In this section, Dr. Jenn gives you the benefits to reading.
She also lists the top twelve books she recommends for children under 3.
(I hate to admit it, but I have never even heard of them... you better believe I will be looking for them at the library soon!)
The best part?
Dr. Jenn includes "Thirty Six Activities That Will Make Kids of All Ages Love Lit."

I like that these are actually things that are easy for me to do... Not that I am always looking to take an easy route, but some books that I see are just too much for me...
This book is easy to read, easy to follow through... and besides making a "superbaby," I think it helps me doing my job, be a better mom!

As I said, I am really enjoying this book!!!!
With that being said, I am off to read a few more pages now!!!!
This is a must have for all! (In my opinion!)

You can head on over to Amazon and buy this book today!!!!
Or, if you are out and about... Swing on by Barnes and Noble... they carry it as well!!!!

If you get half as much out of it as I did, you are in for a treat!!!!

  3. That's really cool. I don't have any kids, but if I ever do I hope that reading is a big part of their life. I'm really grateful to my grandmother who was such a big part of my education. She encouraged my reading, helped me get into classical music and even taught me basic algebra when I was like in first grade! You'd really be surprised what kids are capable of if you just spend some time with them.
