Get Caught Reading With Dinosaur Train : Guess Who Buddy

You know how I feel about reading and how I love to read with Broxton.  The fact that he grabs a book for me to read to him, or for him to read to me... Well, it makes me so proud and happy!
Imagine my sadness when I read the following:
According to United We Serve, a nationwide service initiative that helps meet growing social needs resulting from the economic downturn, 80% of preschool and after-school programs serving low-income populations have no age-appropriate books for their children. A recent study shows that while in middle-income neighborhoods the ratio of age-appropriate books per child is 13 to 1, in low-income neighborhoods the ratio is 1 for every 300 children.

The most successful way to improve the reading achievement of low-income children is to increase their access to print. Communities ranking high in achievement tests have several factors in common: an abundance of books in public libraries, easy access to books in the community at large and a large number of textbooks per student.

Seeing as though we do not go to the library that often, nor is Broxton in school, I was happy to know that there is a "Get Caught Reading" program that takes photo's of well known figures "caught reading" and they are in print ads everywhere...
Since I am reviewing the Dinosaur Train Book, Guess Who, Buddy...
I thought it would be cool to show you the Dinosaur Train Get Caught Reading Poster.

Now, on to the book...
If you have a little one that loves Dinosaur Train, you will love this book.
We watch Dinosaur Train often, so I would think Broxton would have known all the answers already...
Then again, I had a hard time reading their technical name, so that might be why he did not know it all..
This book is super cute...
It starts off with a character we all know and love...
He is tall, wears a red vest and a red hat...
That's Right!!!! It's Mr. Conductor!!!!
That was how the whole book is....
I like that it is cute and interactive (you flip the flap to get the answer) and it is only 10 pages, so they will not get overwhelmed!

Hope to see more Dinosaur Train books soon!

  1. My boys talk about this show all the time! I've never seen it. I work full time. I miss out on some of that stuff.
