Are You "Healthing" or Just "Cleaning" #Lysol
The other night on Glee, the episode was about "Guilty Pleasure's"
Do you happen to have any because I know I do... I have a slight obsession with the smell of Lysol.
Growing up, I remember the daycare that I went to... and later my brother went there as well. They always had Lysol on hand. Never really knew why, at that age - I thought it had to be to cover up the smell of dirty diapers and stinky, sweaty kids! I am not sure if that is why I have always trusted the name, but I have always had Lysol on hand... As long as I can remember.... To spray in the bathroom and all over the bathroom. (I am NOT a fan of bathrooms at all!) Actually, Lysol is always around our house... (Remember, my slight obsession.)
When Broxton had the flu, we went through TONS of Lysol.
I used it to spray down the remotes, the phones, the door knobs, the light switches... and most importantly...
HIS TOYS. We literally laid them out and sprayed... over and over again... Cleaning and disinfection all of the toys. I felt secure and safe knowing that Lysol was killing all of the germs. So secure and safe that I actually called Marc and had him pick up more on the way home, as I wanted to make sure we were stocked and prepared. Load after load of all the toys... Hot Wheels, Army Men... Then we moved on to the furniture and the walls... and the sinks, and yep, the bathrooms! You name it... Lysol touched it..
That was why when I learned of LYSOL's new initiative "Healthing," I knew I wanted to share it with you! Being a name I have known and trusted for as long as I can remember... I am proud to tell you that Lysol has a new concept... It is not a fake word... It is a movement!
I took the Healthing Quiz, as I wanted to make sure I wasn't only "cleaning" my house... but also "healthing" it as well... While answering the questions on the quiz, I learned that Lysol is the number 1 brand recommended by pediatricians!!! I knew that Lysol had the disinfectant spray and wipes... and the no touch soap, but I had no clue about the foam hand soap and the Power Free Cleaner... I will be checking them out soon! Talk about learning something new every day!
Not only do we use Lysol at the house to keep us healthy... Marc is always using it at work.
Think about it... he drives a train... Who knows WHO was on there before? What they did? If they are sick or healthy... Nasty or clean.. So, before he heads out, he disinfects the engine so that where he is sitting and working is clean and sanitary...safe from germs for him and so that he does not bring any home to us...
Also, as you know, when Marc is not driving a train, he is also doing his military duty...
So once again, Lysol to the rescue!!!! From using it to kill the odor of the other people he works with, he also uses it to form a "barricade" of sorts to keep germs from getting on him.

LYSOL is introducing the concept of Healthing – a new idea centered on keeping families as healthy as possible, by looking beyond just cleaning and ensuring that the proper steps are taken to stay well.
Healthing is the extension of LYSOL and its Mission for Health, the motivation behind the creation of their products that are centered on killing 99.9 percent of germs and providing solutions for the home that help promote good hygiene and disinfection.
The idea of Healthing goes beyond cleaning – and looks more holistically at how a healthy home helps to keep families thriving.
One important way to integrate Healthing into your home is to understand the difference between cleaning and disinfecting, as both are important components of the Healthing process. While cleaning and organizing is certainly important, killing germs on commonly touched surfaces can lower the risk of spreading bacteria and viruses between family members.

LYSOL Healthing Tips
Don’t let spring cleaning overwhelm you - take it one room at a time and stock up on products that will help you to get the job done effectively, including LYSOL® products, paper towels, sponges, and trash bags.
Know the difference between cleaning and disinfecting! Both are important components of the Healthing process and LYSOL® has products that can help with all related tasks. While cleaning and organizing is certainly important, killing germs on commonly touched surfaces can lower the risk of spreading bacteria and viruses between members of the family.
Start with the basics – wipe down easy to reach surfaces and then move onto the little nooks and crannies.
Remember to dust around wall art, photographs and woodwork.
Use a disinfectant product, like LYSOL® Disinfecting Wipes, to help ensure you’re killing germs as you clean, and think beyond the usual places. Be sure to clean even the smallest surfaces, such as light switches.
Don’t forget to disinfect places that you don’t see or think about often, like the door knobs, cabinet handles or sink drains.
Make it a family activity and tailor tasks to specific age groups. Give younger children simpler, one-step tasks like dusting or picking toys up off the floor, and save the more complex jobs, such as vacuuming, scrubbing, and disinfecting for older members of the family.
Remember to practice proper hand washing as well after you clean, either with soap and water for 20 seconds or a hand sanitizer. Hand washing is the single most important thing you can do to prevent illness, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
I will tell you this...
Having Lysol around makes us feel safe... and actually be safer... Against Germs in our house.. and from spreading germs to others! If you want to stay up to date on new products and movements... Make sure you like Lysol on Facebook and join the Healthing Movement!!!

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for LYSOL®. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating
We always had a big tall golden yellow can of Lysol with the blue label in our house growing up. I remember it clear as a bell.
ReplyDeleteWe use Lysol wipes and send them along to my son's Kindergarten teacher every so often (by her request).
Lysol wipes-genius! Easiest way to truly clean a toilet seat. And think about how dirty a toilet seat is!
