We recently had the chance to check out a new snack...
Harvest Snaps.  I will admit, I was a bit unsure about what to expect...
This was part of the email I received:

Formerly known as Snapea Crisps, Harvest Snaps is launching new flavors under the Snapea and Lentil varieties that will appeal to all snack fans. Super crunchy and full of flavor, Harvest Snaps’ Snapea Crisps are made from naturally dried peas, which make up 70% of the product, while Lentil Snaps are made from 65% Lentils and contain 5g of protein and 13% of your daily fiber.

Harvest Snaps will undoubtedly impress your taste buds. Snapea Crisps are available in four different varieties: Lightly Salted, Caesar, Black Pepper and Wasabi Ranch. Lentil Snaps’ Tomato Basil and Onion Thyme flavors will surely satisfy the most demanding gourmands. Unlike many other snacks on the market, Harvest Snaps are baked, not fried. They are also lower in fat and sodium than traditional snacks.

Irresistibly crunchy, Harvest Snaps will appeal to snackers of all ages. This is something you would want to keep in your office desk or purse for a mid-day snack. Snapea Crisps are perfect for a delicious crunchy salad topping. They also make an ideal addition to lunch boxes and after school snacks.

I will tell you now, if I were purchasing them in the store for the first time, I would have totally grabbed the bag of Lentil Snaps' Tomato Basil... but honestly, that was my least favorite.  I know I love tomatoes, but I have slowly started to realize that Tomato flavored snack foods are not on my top list of snack choices...
I probably would have pulled a bag of the Lightly Salted Snapea Crisps as a last resort... but let me tell you... they are by far my favorite...  I am not sure if my taste buds are changing or what... but that is the truth.  I gave Broxton one of the lightly salted ones and I totally expected him to spit it out...
(He is NOT much for trying new things these days...  Nor did I know what to think about him wanting to try a Snap Pea.)
To my surprise, he asked for a bowl of them for his snack that day...  and then asked for them again the next day.   With all the different flavors, they are not totally overpowering, but they are flavored enough to let you taste it...
I am really glad that we found a healthy snack alternative...
This makes me feel better about packing for Broxton to take for part of his lunch than some of the other items he normally requests!
I noticed on their FACEBOOK page that they do lots of interacting with their fans...
From having them upload pictures to more... all to win prizes!
So, make sure you like them on facebook!!!!
They are also on TWITTER.
