Have you heard of the books featuring Baby Owl? I hate to admit it, but I had never heard of them (They started in 2005)  until now.... But I tell you, Jonathan Allen is pretty creative at showing a day in my life with Broxton... but with using a "cute" baby owl!

In "I'm not CUTE!"  we meet baby owl that decides to go and explore the woods!  All of the animals see him and comment on him being cute -- but baby owl is not  fan... He is "a huge and scary hunting machine with great big soft and silent wings."
Grab the book to see what all happens, especially when he tells his mama about his unhappiness in their description of him!  LOVE IT!!!!
To be honest, now that I have read this one, I really want to read the other Baby Owl stories!  They include "I'm not Reading!" , "I'm not Sleepy!" and "I'm not Ready!"
I can not wait to see what happens in those books!

SYNOPSIS:
(Recommended age: 3-5)
Welcome back, Baby Owl! With visions of himself as a “huge, scary, sleek, sharp-eyed hunting machine,” the adorable little creature goes out for a walk in the woods. But every animal he meets thinks he's so cute, fluffy, and huggable! Poor Baby Owl. "I'm not cute!' he shouts. Then Mom comes along—and she agrees, before coming up with the perfect solution. It's a real hoot that every kid will relate to.

Go learn more about the author and illustrator, Jonathan Allen and see his other works.  You can also read the review we did on his book, Is that My Cat?

  1. I haven't heard of the series either, but now you've got me very, very interested. I want to see if he ended up liking being cute, or if something else took place. :)
