Growing up, were you a prankster? Well, I totally got pranked a bit ago. I had a note telling me I had a package waiting for me on the shipping office. I finally got around to getting it and it had "PERISHABLE" written on it...I freaked out, not knowing what was sent for review and what condition it was going to be in... I opened it and it was a rather large carton of milk... Then, I opened it up and saw that they got me! It wasn't milk... It was a new book for me to read! The Terrible Two was the name of the book and when I saw that Jeff Kinney (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) liked it, I knew I was going to have to see what it was about. I couldn't put it down, I was cracking up at what the prankster was doing (or trying to do) This is a great book for the kids (and adults will enjoy hearing the stories too!)
Synopsis:
Miles Murphy is not happy to be moving to Yawnee Valley, a sleepy town that’s famous for one thing and one thing only: cows. In his old school, everyone knew him as the town’s best prankster, but Miles quickly discovers that Yawnee Valley already has a prankster, and a great one. If Miles is going to take the title from this mystery kid, he is going to have to raise his game.
It’s prankster against prankster in an epic war of trickery, until the two finally decide to join forces and pull off the biggest prank ever seen: a prank so huge that it would make the members of the International Order of Disorder proud.
In The Terrible Two, bestselling authors and friends Mac Barnett and Jory John have created a series that has its roots in classic middle-grade literature yet feels fresh and new at the same time.
*** Update- I contacted the publisher to determine the target age and they recommend age 8-12. (That doesn't mean young or older wont enjoy, this was just the recommended age. )
That's so funny how they shipped it to you!
ReplyDeleteIs this a book Mica would read, or is it more for adults?
How funny!! I have a brother-in-law who was such a prankster in his youth. He has gotten me many a time over the years too. Love that kid (though he's not a kid anymore). :)
