As Savannah gets closer and closer to being here, I am trying to make sure to have everything we need to make it a smooth transition when she gets home. When Broxton was born, we had a waterproof mattress.  (It was plastic.)  Now, we have a new one for Savannah.  It is a really nice organic one, but the thing is... there is no waterproof protection. I started looking online for a waterproof protector and found one online at Protect-A-Bed.
The Premium Crib Protector provides all of the standard features and benefits of our Premium Mattress protector. Our Premium line is backed with the revolutionary Miracle Membrane® , which is waterproof while remaining air vapor porous. This means body heat is allowed to easily pass through, and your child will sleep cool and comfortably. The Miracle Membrane® also serves as a barrier for dust mites and allergens, which provides for healthy, irritant-free sleep. The fitted sheet style protector can be easily removed, machine washed and dried.

Nothing should come between your child and a healthy, hygienic sleep. That's why Protect-A-Bed's Premium Mattress Protector should come between your child and their mattress. As the ultimate form of protection from dust mites and allergens, our product is unsurpassed in the industry. With Miracle Membrane®, your child is provided with a complete safeguard from allergens that can cause eczema, asthma and rhinitis.

Premium Crib Waterproof Mattress Protectors covers are:
  • Moderates temperature so it's cool in the summer and warm in the winter
  • Soft and super absorbent
  • Machine washable on hot, tumble dry medium
  • Ultra thin with 4-way stretch makes it easy to fit, and easy to take off
  • Tested for harmful substances according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100
  • Effective in preventing bacteria and dust mites from breeding in the crib, which can cause various allergies and side effects

Don't mind the mess, we have been working on getting her room ready.  I got the mattress protector ready to go. It was easy to put on and super soft. I think that the thing I liked most (besides the factor of keeping the crib dry) is that it is really easy to put on.  You know sometimes the sheets are so hard to put on, but this one is a piece of cake!   I just put the cover on, then added the sheet and then boom, threw it in the crib and we were good to go!

Any secrets you want to share about how you kept the crib dry?

  1. We had one of these. I also used a hospital pad under the fitted sheet when they were old enough for a toddler bed.

  2. I like that it was easy to put on too. I hate fighting with sheets, or anything similar (like a mattress cover). ;) Getting ready for baby, woot!

  3. I agree with mail4rosey about being easy to put on! I can't stand having to chase the corners, because as soon as I get one on, another pops off.

We had a waterproof mattress and still used a waterproof mattress cover. It sure came in handy at times. :)
