Children’s Museum of Atlanta to host “Out of this World” fundraiser for
2016 Amuse’um on Saturday, April 16
13th annual benefit features celestial celebration of fun and festivities;
Supports Museum’s childhood educational programming and community outreach
ATLANTA (March 24, 2016) – 3, 2, 1… blastoff! Children’s Museum of Atlanta is counting down to its 13th annual Amuse’um fundraiser, themed Out of this Word, on Saturday, April 16 from 7 – 11 p.m.. Presented by Georgia Natural Gas, this signature, adults-only benefit honors longtime Museum friends Elizabeth and Michael Klump, and supports the Museum’s mission to spark imagination and inspire discovery and learning for all children through the power of play. Guests are invited to come together and celebrate Atlanta’s only children’s museum with a celestial evening of fun, festivities and fare!
To set the scene for the extraterrestrial evening, Children’s Museum of Atlanta will be transformed into a stellar space odyssey with galactic games, gastronomy and activities galore. Attendees can check in with “mission control” upon arrival and wonder around the cosmos to enjoy cocktails and cuisine, the famed “wall of wine” game, an outer space scavenger hunt and much more. Amuse’um will also feature live music, dancing, raffle giveaways and live and silent auctions, including a modern Tuscan holiday for four people, an in-home catered dinner with wine pairing for eight people, a Kennedy Space Center experience for four people, an exotic 5-night getaway to Belize, courtside seats for an Atlanta Hawks home game, a premium suite to an Atlanta Braves vs. Nationals game, mid-field tickets to a Nashville Titans game, Walt Disney World Passes, tickets to the Sea Lions Experience at the Georgia Aquarium and many more!
Dedicated Museum supporter Nina Cheney is serving as the 2016 Event Chair, and other event committee members include Adam Abramson, Eleanor Anne Fann, Carlton Hudson, Tracye Miller, Caroline Smith, and F. Michael Tesler.
This annual event attracts a diverse crowd of more than 500 attendees from across the greater Atlanta area, who contribute to the ongoing and important work of the Museum. All proceeds support Children Museum of Atlanta’s early childhood educational programming and community outreach that touches the lives of more than 200,000 children and families annually. Serving the children, families and schools in Atlanta and throughout Georgia, the Museum has welcomed more than 2 million visitors since opening in 2003.
With the premise that meaningful play provides the essential foundation for life-long learning, Children’s Museum features bright, hands-on exhibits designed to spark imagination and inspire discovery. By engaging children through the power of play, these exhibits introduce young learners to core educational concepts, laying the groundwork that will help children succeed in school and ultimately in the global economy.
*** This is not a paid post. I will be receiving passes to the Children's Museum for a visit at another time. I wanted to post this as I love museums and think they are beneficial for all of us!
Now that's a benefit that sounds worth hiring a sitter. I'd love to go!
