I made trail mix!! #sharelittlesecrets #BackToSchool

Looking for a fun after school snack?  Why not grab a few things and let your younger ones help you make a fun "trail mix" for when you need snacking on the go?!
I will be totally honest with you - I have no creative flow when it comes to cooking or anything food related.  That being said, I deciided to try making trail mix and it was so good mixing it up with dark chocolate treats!   (I am 99 % always going to say NO to dark chocolate.  Well, I used to say no that often, but these little secrets has me saying YES!)

We were sent a selection of goodies from Little Secrets to check out and they were so good! We were all eating them plain, just enjoying the candies, but then I thought it would be fun to mix it up and make a trail mix.  Honestly, I was trying to find a way to savor the tastiness for a bit longer too!

I started the whole thing with placing the different candies in ramekins and letting everyone guess what flavor they were.  Each flavor was awesome and now I want to try the newest - Sea Salted Peanut and Toasted Coconut!  (They also have seasonal flavors like spiced pumpkin and peppermint, so seriously.. check them out!)   They have no artificial ingredients, so its okay to treat yourself to a nice mid day snack.  It would also be a great reward system for those that do sweet treats for the younger ones!  (Just a thought!)

Want to know what I used to make my trail mix?
I didn't measure anything, so just mix in the amount you want to use.
Almonds
Pistachios
Cashew
Little Secrets Flavor of Choice
Cranberries

I made it, threw it in storage containers and then we snacked on it and packed it for lunches as well!  So good and sweet / salty.  YUM!!!!

What do you add to your trail mix?

Comments

  1. I have never heard of Little Secrets before and they sound yummy. I would love to try the toasted coconut, peanut butter and spiced pumpkin pie the most.

  2. These look good I need to find them! I put just about anything I have small amounts left into trail mix and it will get gobbled up!

  3. Around Halloween I add candy corn. It's my favorite.
