Fat Brain Toys. Does the name sound familiar to you? If not, you will be headed that way soon. It is full of loads of fun, so be ready to break out the credit card and get to shopping!
A blog friend of mine, Alissa has mentioned them before and I am telling you, just head over to their site and you will instantly fall in love. She was lucky enough to win a gift card to them and let me be the first to say... If I had a gift card there, I could totally do some damage. The whole site is just super cool to me!!!
I was lucky enough to have a chance to review a couple of the items that Fat Brain Toys creates. Before I share my review with you, I want to tell you a couple things that stand out to me about this company.
Up first: They have the single largest selection of American Made Toys.

Next - They have two retail stores - Omaha and Overland Park. Other than that, it is all online. Let me just tell you, I want to plan a vacation just to go to one of the stores. I seem to fall into KID MODE as soon as I get around tons of fun toys / games that you can touch and feel. Yes, that makes me buy more, but come on... it is FUN!!!!
The final thing, it just might be my favorite that I learned about them too, is they not only sell toys, they create them too!
I hope that they don't mind, but I want to share just a little of the email from them that made me completely fall in love with them:
So we’re a really small company in Nebraska, with two brick and mortar stores, one warehouse, and the “corporate” office. On the retail side, we search and carry toys from all sorts of American and international companies that aren’t carried by big box stores and the big toy companies. Many of these are small production specialty toys and educational toys. We also partner with other smaller companies for new toy launches and giveaways that will hopefully create more visibility in this Big Box Store world. On the toy creation side, we try to bring out maybe seven new toys and games over the course of a year. Our toys have won awards from ASTRA (specialty toys) and Toy Awards, as well as being finalists for the TOTY Awards (the BIG one!) almost every year for design.
Go ahead. Read that portion of the email once more. I will wait. Now, tell me that you don't just fall in love with them now!!!!!!!
Now, they do carry names and brands that we all come to know and love such as Fisher Price, K'Nex, Melissa & Doug, Lego and more... BUT - they are so much more than that!
I love that you can search and shop a number of different ways:
1- search by age (They even have babies, teens, adults and seniors as options!)
2 - search by gender
3 - search by brand (MAKE SURE TO CLICK ON FAT BRAIN TOYS!)
4 - search by BEST SELLER
5 - search by new releases
6 - search AMERICAN MADE
