I am not sure when school starts where you are, but here in Georgia, we have some schools that start back on August 3rd, some on August 7th and I am sure there are other dates too.  The point I am trying to make is that school is about to start here, so that means we need to get our things in gear and get organized and ready! One thing that I think will be a great help to me this year?  The 2015-2016 Academic Planner from Order Out of Chaos.  We received one in the past, I am 99% sure I gave it to one of the boys to help them with their time management, but this bad boy here is going to be all mine!   No, Broxton doesn't have 9 million classes and what not, he is still in Elementary school, but I think...

As I have mentioned before, Dora has grown up right before our eyes!   I love that Nickelodeon has allowed her to grow up and the kids that were fans of hers from the start can grow and keep watching, without feeling like they are watching a "baby show."  The best part is that they still have the original Dora still available for a new generation of fans!!! ( I can not tell you how many Dora book bags I saw at Broxton's school last year!) Check out two new DVD's being released this August for Dora fans new and old!   Dora’s DVD collection,  Dora the Explorer: Dora’s Double Length Adventures , features three of her most exciting and educational adventures. These three double-length...

School is about to start here, but that doesn't mean that the reading has to end.  I know that kids have a good amount of school work, but lucky for us, some of it includes nightly reading.  When I was growing up, my Nana would make me read the newspaper to her, she said it would help with my reading and my vocabulary.  I did it, but I know I would have had more fun reading books that were filled with characters I loved too!!! (She did take me to the library all the time, so no worries, I had fun reading material too!)  Anyways, I wanted to share a few new books from Disney Publishing.  If you don't want to add to your home library, think about buying a couple and donating them to your local school...

I have no shame in saying I love to read.  I read a little of this and a little of that.  Truth be told, if it is an easy read, I will normally try and check it out.  I don't do well with history and things like that, but other for the most part, I will try anything.  That being said, I was sent a couple of the new books from Disney Publishing for their new Original Movie, The Descendants.  I know that this is above Broxton's level, but I just might try to read them to see what they are all about.  I know the previews to the movie looks great, so it won't hurt to read them, right?  Check out a few of the selections they offer below:  Descendants Junior Novel  Age 12 + Whe...

We have been watching this area develop not too terribly far from us.  At first it was a clearing, then they started building and working on a parking lot.  We saw that it was called SPROUTS and would be opening soon.  Of course that meant we wanted to check it out!!! EVERY - SINGLE - TIME - we go by, the parking lot is PACKED, but we decided to brave it and go in anyways.  It was the most awesome place to us!!   They have a little of this and a little of that, lots of great prices and so much to choose from. Best of all, it is healthy food!  (Yes, they do have candy and what not, but from what I could tell, it was mostly organic options.) So, I was given an opportunity to review them and...

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. Last year Broxton liked to go to the Nurses office quite often. I think sometimes it was just because he was bored in class and wanted to get out for a bit. Yes, we spoke about it and I told him that he was only to go when he was really not feeling well, that if he went all the time, the time he actually did not feel good, no one was going to believe him.  Being in school meant that there were a few times when he was around plenty of other sick kids  (WHY SEND YOUR KID to school if they are sick and with a fever?  I just do not get it!)  Anyways, don't get me started on that one... Well, as I was saying, there were a few times when he really did not feel well.  Instead of rushing up there each time...

When looking for a great snack, I am usually up to try most things.  One thing I love?  Sweets!!  There is no denying that.  I also love almonds, so when I was given the chance to review " The Delicious Cookie without the Guilt" aka ALMONDINA, I knew this was something I did not want to pass up!!!! Here is a little about them from their website:  ( Click to learn more )  This all-natural, crispy almond cookie has no cholesterol and no added fat, salt, or preservatives. It is wonderfully crunchy and does not have to be dipped. It is a delightful accompaniment for coffee, tea, soft cheeses and fine light wines. The rush to eliminate fat from gourmet foods too often has also eliminated m...
