Big Girls Don't Cry - Book Review

I just finished reading, "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Cathie Linz.
I hate to admit this, but up until a few weeks ago, I have never even heard of her.

But, I saw a list of her current books and THEN, I saw it..
With a name like "Big Girls Don't Cry" I knew I had to read it!
From the very first line of the book, I was hooked!
"Broke and skinny beat out broke and chunky every time. "
Hello?! I am feeling you already!
The tile of the book alone made me want to read it and I am glad I did.

I looked at Cathie's website and realize that she actually had her first book published in 1982.
Cathie is a Romance writer...
and let me just tell you, she can get pretty steamy in there!
Remember the friends episode where Joey finds Rachels book? The one under the bed?
Well, Rachel should read this!

I have never been a "Romance" reader before...
but after reading this book, I know I will be reading the other books by Cathie.
Cathie allows for the scenes to get pretty steamy, sexy and seductive!
Whew!

The book follows the life of Leena, a plus size model that has returned to her hometown to get control of her life. She goes from being a model in Chicago, to working as a receptionist in her hometown at a veterinarians office, not just ANY veterinarians office, I might add!
Her sister has her up on a pretty high pedestal and Leena is not really comfortable with the attention, nor her sisters friends!
I love the wide mix of characters that Cathie has in the book!
Skye, LuLu, Aunt Nancy and Sister Mary! I love them all!
This book had me laughing out loud at some parts and I can not wait to see where this heads from here!

From her website:

Leena may be down on her luck—but big girls don’t cry.
They get even...
Leena Riley has returned to her hometown of Rock Creek with her tail between her legs. Her fabulous plus-size modeling career in Chicago never took off, and now the only job she can land is as a receptionist in a veterinarian’s office. She has to be desperate to work for Cole Flannigan…
Being two years older than Cole never spared her from his taunts in school. Now all grown up, Cole is still the golden boy, a sexy charmer with commitment issues and a short attention span—until Leena and her curves strut into his life. And though she turns his office upside-down, he can’t resist the animal attraction that makes him look at Leena in a whole new light…
I can not wait to read the other books by Cathie!
