If your house is anything like ours, "zombie" is as common a word as "the" these days. Not just because of Halloween coming up, although that adds to it.  It is because every where you turn is zombie this and zombie that.  They even play zombie at school at recess some days!   At least around here they do.  When we were sent the book, I want to eat your books by Karin Lefranc and Tyler Parker, I knew it was going to be a hit with Broxton!   (He has not received it yet.  We will be reading this as one of his reading books this week.)
In this book, we meet a Zombie on the very first page.  The thing is, it looks like a zombie, but it isn't a scary looking one, meaning it is great for the younger audience!!  The Zombie is limping down the hall... In search of books to eat!   Each page you turn, you see the students in the school trying to keep him away from the books!   You must read it to see what ends up happening and to see what other character you meet!   I think this is a great way to show children that reading is fun, even ZOMBIES like to do it!

I want to eat your books :
I Want to Eat Your Books is a delicious introduction to the value of books. When a hungry zombie stumbles into a school looking for books to consume, it’s up to the kids to teach him how books are for reading, not eating! This monster book is silly and fun with a strong message about kindness and friendship. The little zombie teaches kids not to jump to conclusions and to give everyone a chance. This is the perfect monster book for little ones who want a thrill but aren’t looking for anything too scary.
