Green Gifts Under $25 @GreenBrideGuide

Image
I am all about buying great gifts.... but lets be real, some things can get rather pricey. That is why I am always thrilled when I see something that looks awesome, but is also affordable. With everyone "going green,"  a green gift would be a great one, but most times, they are always a bit too expensive for what my budget allows. When I saw the website, Green Bride Guide , I knew there were several cute idea's on there and now I will share some with you! All of these are under $25, so that makes me smile!!! We were sent the Happiness Wooden Coaster Set.  When they arrived, I was immediately impressed and had to sit them out as soon as I could get them out of the packaging.  To me, when they are stacked, it looks as though I just have a small tree stump sitting on the table.  Then, you start looking at them and you realize that each has a different word on them.  It appears as thought they have been "branded" with the different words....

Building and Growing @Lowes With Daddy

Image
My blogger friend Alissa at Planet of the Apels has blogged numerous times about the Lowes Build and Grow events. They take their boys there and we decided to check it out... Image Credit: Lowes Lowe's Build and Grow is really impressive to me. It is basically a fun time for the kids and their parent (or other guardian) to enjoy time together... and they also get to work on a project and have something to show for it. Broxton was able to go with Marc to one of them.  They worked together and built the sled from Rise of the Guardians.  It was funny, as Broxton keeps saying he wants to see this movie and then they built that... so he knew what he was doing, from the previews of the movie he keeps seeing. That particular Lowe's had a decent turnout.  They had everyone at a couple tables over in a side aisle.  There were several moms there with their kids... and also dads there with their kids as well. Broxton was given a pair of safety goggles and an ap...

@ConfidentMom 2013 Planner #giveaway

Image
I am all about trying to be organized. But, I hate to admit it, I am not the best at times. I used to have planners to try and be more organized, or at least to appear to be. Truthfully, I needed a bit more help than just an organizer to write in.. I need a list to help me have a foundation to start with. A foundation. Everything has a foundation for support and structure. When I learned of the Confident Mom Planner , I knew this was just what I had been looking for! This is just so much more than a  planner. This is a HUGE HELP!!!! The Confident Mom Weekly Household Planner is a weekly to do list. There are currently two versions available. One has a scripture on it for weekly quiet time and the other doesn't include scripture at all. I took a screen shot of mine so that you could see what it somewhat looks like. I really love that it gives a moment of quiet time each day.  I also love that it gives you a place to check when you have completed a tas...

Cocktails Made Easy @DrinkCordina

Image
Hang on to your hats, guys and gals!!!! I have a product to tell you about!  I recently heard of a drink that I was eager to tell you about... Luckily I was able to review it so get ready to say, " I need to run to the store!" Cordina is a company based out of New Orleans.  Yep, I know I have your attention now!   They are in the business of making frozen drinks!  Think of a "Juice Box" for adults. Cordina is the name, bigeasyblends.com is their site. They have Mar-Go-Rita's, Pina-Go-Lata, Daiq-Go-Ri and Choc-Go-Late flavors sure to make your taste buds fall in love. Each of the pouches have a 6% alcohol base and are in easy to carry pouches.  Let me point out a few things I like about these.  One - they have screw top lids.  That way, if you want to drink some now and save some for later... (I know, you might not want to, but it would be nice to share)  you can do it with no mess.  Two - they have great flavors....

Orangutan Diaries on DVD

Image
I recently had the chance to review, Orangutan Diaries.  Given the content, I was interested in seeing it and I figured Broxton would pop in and watch from time to time... It was a very informational video and although I learned so much, it broke my heart to see them suffering.  If you are interested in learning about Orangutans, or have someone in your family that loves animals... This would be great to watch!! From their press release: Deep in the Borneo rainforest, a dedicated team of veterinarians and caregivers has a massive and emotional task ahead of them: rescuing and nursing the jungle’s most vulnerable animals back to health. Currently there are approximately 600 orangutans being cared for day and night at the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation Centre. Most have had traumatic lives, clinging to survival as rainforests are burned around them, while others are snatched from the wild to be sold as pets. Everyday is a challenge for the team as they care...

Softsoap Body Wash for the Holidays

Image
I love to relax when I can. One thing I enjoy is nice, hot showers!  I do have to have certain scents for certain times though..... I was sent two Limited Edition Scents from Softsoap and I have to tell you, they were both wonderful.  I did think that they were both pretty mild, you know... when I opened and did the "sniff test" with them as soon as they arrived.    I am normally one for peppermint scents in the morning, but since it was so mild, I thought it would be a nice smell to have as I got ready for bed one night... Only problem was, it was not so mild when I put a nice sized dollop on my bath sponge!  It wasn't overly strong, but it was invigorating enough that it was quickly moved to my morning bath wash of choice!   I LOVE the scent of the SoftSoap Wintermint Wonderland in the morning and it is so creamy and moisturizing!!!! The other scent, Enchanting Sugar Plum is also a great scent!  I was trying to figure out the way to descr...

New Illustrations for Aesop's Fables #holidaygiftguide

Image
I hate to admit it, but I was sort of unfamiliar with Aesop's Fables.  Yes, I had heard of them, but other than that, I was none the wiser... Then, we received a beautiful book in the mail! Since the mid 1980's, Charles Santore has been working on illustrating children's books.  Lucky for us, he worked on Aesop's Fables!! He arranged the tales based on each animal... and the tales and illustration are great!!! This book includes 24 of the famous tales... With probably the most famous of all... The Hare and the Tortoise... Add to it, that particular illustration is a pull out spread!!!!! If you are looking to add to your family library, I guarantee you will be impressed with the illustrations... and might realize you are familiar with more of Aesop's Fables than you give yourself credit for!!! F TC Compliant Review Policy: The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole pur...
