Have you read any of the Lima Bear Books? The Cave Monster #HolidayGiftGuide

I just finished reading The Cave Monster... Part of the Lima Bear book series.
I have never read it, nor even heard of it, but I am glad I had the chance to learn!
Lima Bear is a little green bear (like a Lima bean)
He along with a couple other key characters are the base for all of the Lima Bear Books.
In The Cave Monster, Lima Bears cousin, L. Joe Bean gets captured by The Cave Monster.
Lima Bear, along with his friends, work to come up with a plan to rescue him.
The bottom line of the story?
Be there for your friends and find the courage within yourself.
At least that was what I got from it.

I though the story was cute...
The illustrations were great...
Best part?
The end.
They have a section just for parents...
It is called "extend the learning" where they give you activities to do that relate to the story... as well as conversations to have about it.

I loved that part!!!!
We will be reading more from here... I especially want to learn more about how back back got his name! :)

From the Lima Bear site:

Lima Bear® Press has a very straightforward mission: to publish children’s stories that are, engaging, imaginative, and humorous while each carries an important life message such as tolerance, honesty, courage and the like.

In the 10-book series entitled The Lima Bear Stories, as the basic characters appear and reappear, each has a distinct personality that shines through in every story. While the children have no idea what twists and turns the story may take, they come to know the characters and have a pretty good idea of how they are likely to act in different situations and settings. In essence, the children become friends with the characters. There is a form of bonding that develops. Each story carries an important overriding message (such as courage, tolerance, honesty), and we believe that this bonding creates a more profound understanding and appreciation of the message.
