Aloha Friday - Phone Hours?
Linking up with Kailani at Island Life...
Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.
Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
My question this week:
What is the latest time you allow your kids to receive phone calls?
My answer:
Growing up, our phone did not ring past 9:00
Oh, and for those that made a visit last week...
I did cut my hair!
Check out my pictures HERE!!!!
Well, my little one is too small for phone calls, but I think 8 was the cut off when I was growing up. Of course, once I had a cell phone, my parents didn't seem to care, but I was in high school then. I think they figured if I stayed up late and talked on the phone, that I'd pay for it by having to get up early and go to school.
ReplyDeleteDitto. Now that they're all grown I've told my kids if you call me past 10 p.m. I'll think something is wrong, and before 10:00 a.m. the same. I hate getting woke by the phone.
ReplyDeleteAnything after 10:00 pm is too late in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteOur kids are 10 and 8 and I say 8 p.m. should be the latest...during the summer I would be more flexible but luckily right now they text on their ipod over phone calls...:)
ReplyDeleteYou know, I have no idea! I don't remember that far back. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt couldn't have been past 9 or 10 though.
Happy Friday!
lol we didn't have phone as kids growing up in the orphanage. But for me, after 8pm I don't want my phone ringing unless it's someone in trouble or my best friend.
ReplyDeleteAloha!
I don't have an kids yet. Our phone didn't ring past 10:00. My brother and I had our own phone, so when school was out our parents didn't mind it ringing past 10:00, as long as they couldn't hear it. Nice haircut!
ReplyDeleteI am with you. 9 pm is the cut-off at our house just like it was when I was growing up. Of course, these days kids can chat on facebook so they do that far more often than chatting on the phone. (At least mine do anyway.)
ReplyDeletekids are too young for phone calls! hehe toddler and a baby here
ReplyDeleteGrowing up, rule was 9 for me too. Doesn't seem that way anymore. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteFor my 15 year old, calls end at 10. Cell phone, landline, whatever. All over by 10. And, fortunately, the remaining two are too young to care about phone calls. :)
Princess Nagger's best friend's bedtime is 8 or 9, so she doesn't hear from her past that time, though we don't have a rule about it, per se, but we prefer no one calls us adults past 10:00. ;)
ReplyDeletePack Rat Mode: Aloha Stalk Hop Friday
We're still too young of a family to have to worry about that but 9:00 was my limit growing up too.
ReplyDeleteI think it depends on their age and bedtime... but 10 pm at the very latest.
ReplyDeleteI like 9pm.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger we could not get calls past 8pm. For my kids it's 8pm on school nights and 9pm on the weekends.
ReplyDeleteI was just like you... 9PM and that was it. Of course I always figured a way for my boyfriends to call and hang up quick, then I would call them back. TeeHee
ReplyDeleteI had the same for my boys growing up, but then cell phones came along and they could talk anytime all night long.
We don't even have a house phone anymore.
