A New Spin : Huff and Puff from @AbramsAppleseed
The other day, we spent the morning in the Emergency Room. (That is for another blog post...)
Anyways... When getting ready to head there, I grabbed a couple of the latest books that we received for review.
One was Huff and Puff by Claudia Rueda.
I really thought it was just going to be a counting book with the classic story of the Three Little Pigs.
We got to the ER and settled in to wait until Marc was called back.
This ER has a childrens waiting area, so we went there, as one of Broxton's favorite shows was playing on the television. But, once we were over there, we realized there was very little volume...
So, mommy to the rescue... I pulled out our reading material.
(Let me mention at this point, there were three other kids in that area, so I had a captivated audience as I started to read.)
We started with Huff and Puff first.
As we know, there are three little pigs.
First of all, we arrive to a pig building his house of straw...
And then the words HUFF & PUFF. There is a cut out in there for you to huff and puff and blow the house down... When you turn the page, sure enough... the pig is standing and the straw is scattered all down where you blew it down...
You continue through the book where you end up HUFFING and PUFFING...
But guess what?! You just blew out the candles on the cake that the pigs baked!
I loved that it was the same classic story, but with a new surprise ending!
Of course, the kids loved it and the little girls that were there when I read it were smiling pretty big when they figured out what we had done!
This is surely a great addition to add to your library!
