Not even 5 minutes into the movie, Heaven is for Real and I was crying like a baby.  I had wanted to see it when it was in the theaters, but we never had the chance... Now, I am glad that I didn't, as it was an emotional movie to watch... The fact that it is based on a true story makes it even more so!

I am already a fan of Greg Kinnear, so I knew it would be a pretty good movie... but the names don't mean anything in this case, the story sells itself:
Let's put it this way... Your  four year old has an emergency surgery... and comes out of surgery telling you about his experience visiting Heaven...  What do you do?  Do you share his story, knowing that some people might think you are crazy... Or do you keep it to yourself?  Do you see it as a way to witness, or as a way to have bullies messing with your kids all the time?   Did he really experience this, or is this his interpretation of what he hears you preaching about each week...
Add to it that you are a preacher in a small town... Does that make it easier or harder?
There are so many questions that you start asking and ultimately it is up to you to decide...

As a mom, it pulls at your heartstrings, seeing your little one suffering...
As a person with a heart, it pulls even more...
To see how the community treats them, to see that at four years old, he is so confident in what he saw...    I loved the acting, you feel as though you are watching a behind the scenes with the actual family, it is so REAL....   I loved how they portrayed everything...
If you didn't see this in the theater, you need to go and rent/ buy it now...
I loved this movie and think it is a great movie that everyone should watch...
Heaven is for Real...
(FYI - It is based on a book if you want to read it as well.)
