Sixth year for @DennysDiner to partner with #NoKidHungry

If you are anything like me, you see commercials and start wanting to go to that particular place, only to find out that there is not a location near you.  If it is an eating establishment, it is much worse than a store.  Stores mean you can normally shop online, ordering a meal, not so much!  That was the deal with us and Denny's until recently.  There is a Denny's heading south when we go visit family and there is a Denny's heading in the opposite direction. Near us? Nope, not a one!

I was fortunate to have the chance to treat the family to dinner at Denny's recently.  We had a day trip and made it a point to stop at Denny's on the way home.  I have to admit, I don't remember when I have eaten at a Denny's last. I know when I was younger, I have a feeling they were more prominent, but now, they seem to be few and far between.  Broxton was excited, since the menu had PO on the cover and you know how much we love Kung Fu Panda around here.

For the month of September, Denny's is doing a couple of pretty awesome things.

One - FREE Pancakes for kids!!!  Yep, with each adult entree purchased, your child (age 10 and younger) can get a free order of pancakes.  This offer is from 4-10 pm at participating locations. Make sure you ask about it to see if it is going on at yours!  (The location we were at had signage, but when I asked the server, she said she wasn't sure when the promotion started.  I told her it was for the month of September only, so after verifying it, Broxton was happily eating his order!)
Another thing?  For the sixth year, Denny's is working with NO KID HUNGRY!!!!
Through this campaign, every $1 donated helps to give 10 healthy meals to a child in need!  Also, every time a guest posts a picture on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #SHAREMYSLAM , they will also donate $1.  Talk about plenty of ways to make a difference!
Head over to my Instagram feed to see what we had to eat when we stopped in recently!
Strawberries and Cream Pancake Breakfast: Two new fluffy buttermilk pancakes filled with white chocolate chips, topped with vanilla cream and fresh strawberries. Served with two eggs and hash browns, plus your choice of two strips of bacon or two sausage links.

Overall, we had a good time.  The food was good.  The fact that they not only offer a wide variety of kids options was a plus.  As I mentioned, the NO KID HUNGRY partnership and the Kids Free Pancakes are a limited time deal, just for the month of September, so hurry in today!
While you are there, check to see if they have any more of the kids cups for sale.  They are also limited time. *They have teamed up with Dreamworks Pictures and offer 3 cup styles. (Oh from Home, Donkey from Shrek and Po from Kung Fu Panda.)  The cups have headbands with them and make for great souvenirs of a fun family dinner!!!
Savannah wearing the OH ears!

Broxton has already asked when we will go back.  I told him next time we were out at meal time and we saw one, we would make it a point to stop.  I am thinking the next time we head to see family, we will be planning our trip time based upon his eating at Denny's again!

Do you have a Denny's near you?  What do you eat when you go?

  1. I'm glad they are doing this partnership. No child should be in hunger.
