Go On an Adventure with The Rock - Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

We just had the chance to watch Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.
Let me start with saying that I have never seen the first one...
That being said, I do not think you need to (unless I missed something that I should have "gotten" but it seemed as though we were good to go just watching this.)  I will tell you, since we are WWE fans, I was more inclined to want to see this..   As it has Dwayne Johnson (AKA THE ROCK) as one of the key characters...  (I also though the boys would like to see it when they come, as it has Vanessa Hudgens and they all think "she is HOT!"

So, we got the movie and Broxton immediately wanted to see The Rock Movie.
Have you heard of Journey 2?
Long Story Short, this kid is a little BRAT and his step-dad is Dwayne Johnson.  (He makes it clear that "he is NOT my stepfather, just my appointed guardian." )  At this point, Marc and I were already commenting on his crappy attitude.  Well, he gets in trouble and then slowly they have a bonding moment.. which leads them to work together... You see, Dwayne learns that the reason he got in trouble was he felt that he needed to do it as to get a secret message from his grandaddy.  This is when we learn that the step-dad used to be in the Navy, so instead of all the hate and animosity, if they just work together, the might actually get along...
We are treated to a wild and crazy adventure full of all sorts of crazy animals...
Riding on bees?  Holding baby elephants?  Stepping (and cracking)  eggs....
It was a cute movie and I LOVED that we did not notice one curse word!!!!
I will say there were a couple scenes where Broxton was a little scared, but for the majority, he was captivated watching it with us..    Oh, it was pretty cool that the knowledge that led them on the adventure was because of great literature...
That is all I am telling you..
You have to watch to understand what all I mean!

Head back over tomorrow...
WHY?
Because one lucky reader is going to have the chance to win a copy!!!!
Contest starts tomorrow!!!!

  3. The kids have been begging me to see this ever since they heard about it. We haven't seen the first one either, but the previews of this one had them whining.

It sounds like it would make a great friday night movie night. I love movies that can be watched as a family without worrying about "approved" swearing or questionable scenes.
