Worried Your Child Isn't Getting Enough DHA (Or You For that Matter) BrainStrong Review

When it comes to being a mom, I want to be the best I can for Broxton.  I want to know that I did everything I could to make him reach all the potential I know he has in him.
I have heard that he needs Omega - 3  DHA (and good for me, it does like Salmon from time to time.)
I was recently contacted to see if I was interested in BrainStrong.

Well, with a name like that, you know you peaked my curiosity!
So, I had to go check out their site.

FROM THEIR SITE:
BrainStrong is an entirely new category of supplement. It’s a full line of brain health products that recognizes the brain has different needs at every stage of life. That’s why BrainStrong provides four natural, essential daily supplements with optimized DHA nourishment for pregnant women, toddlers, kids and adults. And all BrainStrong products are powered by life'sDHA™. After all, no matter what your age, you want to live up to your potential.

BrainStrong has several different products... that are all based upon your age.

Prenatal
BrainStrong Prenatal supports a healthy pregnancy and aids in the development of an unborn baby’s brain and eyes.* BrainStrong Prenatal may be used for pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and while breast-feeding.

Toddler
BrainStrong Toddler is an important DHA source for brain health development of children ages 1 to 3.* A toddler’s brain grows to about 80% of adult size by age three and 90% by age five. While children outgrow their need for breast milk and formula, they never outgrow their need for DHA.* BrainStrong Toddler contains more DHA than any other over-the-counter toddler supplement or toddler vitamin.

Kids
BrainStrong Kids is an optimized DHA source of nutrition for kids ages 4 to 12. It helps the cells in the brain, retina, heart and other parts of the nervous system continue to develop and function properly.* BrainStrong Kids contains more DHA than any other over-the-counter kids supplement or vitamin for children.

Adults
BrainStrong Adult is an optimized nutritional supplement for the brain, powered withlife'sDHA™ – an algal DHA – that not only supports brain health, it’s the only brand of DHA shown in any clinical study to result in memory improvement.

Now, I noticed that the Toddler was a powder and the Kids was a gummy.
I know Broxton likes gummies, so I though that might be his best one..
Luckily for us, they sent us both to review.

The three days, Broxton took the gummy fine ... but after that..

There was no way I could get him to try it.
As soon as he put it in his mouth, he started gagging and was trying to spit it out.
It did have an unusual smell to it, so I said fine...

(I then tried to take one as well, but I just could not do it... the taste was not a pleasant one.)
We did have the powder, so I thought I would give it a try.

With the powder, it says you can mix into the following foods:
4 oz yogurt

4 oz pudding
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/3 cup mac-n-cheese
1/4 cup mashed potatoes
1 cup 2%milk

So, that was what we did.

I will tell you , make sure you use the whole cup of milk... I didn't the first time and Broxton quickly told me the milk wasn't right... (Marc said it really wasn't noticeable, but since I had mentioned it to him, he knew...)  I then added the rest to make it a full cup and Broxton was good to go.
I am glad that they sent me both for him to try, as I would have hated to not known that the powder was best for him!

  1. I have never heard of this product. It really is an interesting concept.

I bet that it, at least the powder, would be easy to disquise in the Mac-N-Cheese, Pudding, or the oatmeal.

It seems to me that the blander the food the harder it is to hide, I can never hide anything in milk, the kids always figured it out on the first sip. I stopped doing that in fear they would stop drinking milk altogether.
