Office Depot Foundation Helps With Back To School - @OfficeDepotFndn
As I am getting ready for Broxton to head to school, I realize that other parents/guardians are doing the same thing... At our church, you can grab a brown paper bag and purchase the school supplies listed on the attached paper to help a child that might not get to have NEW school supplies... or any at all...
Luckily, churches are not the only places doing that.
For the past 11 years, they have participated in providing backpacks and essential school supplies. Actually, more than 2.5 million bags! This year, the Office Depot Foundation plans to donate 400,000 bags, making it the most donated in one year! Talk about a way to celebrate their 12th Anniversary!
This year, ODF will be giving away specially designed SACKPACKS. These sackpacks were designed just for the foundation and come in 7 different colors/ styles.
" Intended primarily for use by students in grades K-5, the sackpacks also are suitable for older children – thus allowing the Foundation to expand the impact of this program in 2012. The sackpack is compact and stores flat, yet still offers plenty of room for books and other school items.
The sackpacks will be donated throughout the summer as the Foundation launches the 12th year of its National Backpack Program.
Every Office Depot store in the United States will receive 50 sackpacks to give to non-profit organizations and schools in the community. In addition, sackpacks will be donated through approximately 30 “Back-to-School Celebration” events in key Office Depot markets during the summer, as well as to a number of national non-profits serving children in the U.S. and, increasingly, around the world. "
THANK YOU to the Office Depot Foundation for being so involved in the community and to our future!
It is so nice to hear of corporate locations that are giving back to the community like this.
Make sure you follow Office Depot Foundation on Facebook and Twitter to see all the events they are helping with.

I think it is great that they have donated these to kids that need them. As a former teacher, I know how hard it is for some families to purchase the needed supplies. Every bit helps!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad we haven't gotten lice yet! My sister got it once. I remember my parents steam cleaning the carpets. It was horrible!
