A bit ago, we were invited to lunch with friends and they chose to check out a new in the area... It was called Grub Burger and it was packed every time they tried, so we were going to give it a try that day... Of course, we walked in to a busy atmosphere, but it was fine and actually the hustle and bustle of it all made the place that much more appealing to us... Going in with 3 kids to a place that was already loud and busy made me feel that it would not be a place to constantly worry about making sure it was quiet while we ate and caught up on life.

Luckily that day, we had a great time and I contacted them to see if we might be able to work together in a review to share with you our experience...    They said YES!  Meaning that today, a new bloggy friend and I went to enjoy a great meal with the kiddos and we were able to learn a bit more about Grub Burger!!!!

This particular Grub Burger location is located near Cobb Galleria --- So... ANY of you headed this way for LEGO KIDSFEST this weekend, make sure you stop in for a meal, or a snack!  They are located at 2955 Cobb Parkway SE.

When you walk up, you notice the inviting patio that has windows giving you a glimpse inside, but also allows you to enjoy the beautiful weather we have been having...  I loved that it also had a TV out there, so if you are like we are and want to keep up with sports, you are good to go!  (Yes, the World Cup was on!)
Once you walk in, you grab a menu and walk up to a counter to place your order...  They have such a wide variety of burgers, salads, sides, a full bar, Coca Cola Products, flavored teas and the most delicious milkshakes you could dream up!
We were treated to a variety of the signature burgers that they make in house and if those buns look good to you now, just wait until you try one!  They are so delicious and you can tell that they make them fresh each HOUR!
Up first - THE FRONT PORCH:  Lettuce, tomato, mayo and mustard on a buttered toasted bun.
For the Mushroom Fan, they offer a "mushroom and swiss" burger with a kick... It is called the Voodoo Burger:  Absinthe sautéed mushrooms with green onions, swiss cheese, and Tabasco mayo.

The Lockhart Legend was a big surprise to me!   The few times that I have ordered a burger with an onion ring on it, the onion ring ended up being soggy or it just really did not give any addition to the burger... Not the case here...  The Lockhart Legend included: Applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, housemade Dr Pepper BBQ sauce, topped with two hand battered onion rings and sliced dill pickles.  The onion ring was amazing and even after sitting for quite some time, the one onion ring that was off to the side was just as fresh as if it was just made!   I am thinking that this might be the best one I have tried from there!

Wow... Talk about a great surprise to me! I never in a million years would think to order a burger that had guacamole on it... Until the Guacapolte was presented to us... Chipotle aioli, cheddar cheese and guacamole piled on a great tasting burger topped with a homemade bun!

For those in the mood for a salad, we were presented with the Pesto Turkey Cobb: Sliced pesto turkey burger, mixed greens, hand chopped bacon, bleu cheese, avocado, egg, red onion and tomato with your choice of jalapeno ranch or balsamic vinaigrette.
I brought the salad home to eat later and whoa....I would order it again (minus the blue cheese) but that salad... the turkey burger... the avocado... the JALAPENO RANCH...   Yes...  You  know how sometimes you just crave a delicious salad?  This is where you need to go to enjoy!
For those of you that are not into their signature burgers... Maybe the Hippie Chickpea is more to your liking: Meatless ground chickpea & eggplant burger with roasted red pepper mayo, arugula, red onions, goat cheese and tabbouleh served on a whole wheat bun.  We had this served with their Black Bean & Charred Corn Medley: Infused with red onion, tomato, cilantro, jalapeño and fresh lime juice.
I am not a fan of Tuna, but was told that this was delicious...    Burger of the Sea : Ahi yellow fin tuna, hand chopped, topped with sprouts, arugula, pickled ginger and wasabi-teriyaki dressing .   Served medium-rare on a whole wheat bun.  It looked great and I was tempted to try it... but knowing I am not a tuna fan, I kept right on munching on all the other goodies and side items!

I did end up ordering chicken fingers to see how they were... I know we were at a burger place, but there are times that you might just not be in the mood...  Wow. I am glad I did... Back when I was working, I thought we made the best chicken fingers... Nope, not anymore!  They were so delicious that Broxton kept enjoying them long after he should have stopped so he could share!
The other kids in our party decided that a classic Peanut Butter and Jelly would be great for them... and I loved to see that they were offered up their sweet potato fries.  (The first time we ever went there, we were all talking about just how delicious the sweet potato fries are..)  If you are a fan of Sweet Potato Fries, I ask you to give these a try, I think they might be the best I have ever tried!   Also, note the bread... they take their homemade buns and cut the tops off, giving each PB&J their fresh baked bread to be enjoyed!
To finish off our meals, we were able to sample their milkshakes.  The three sent for us to try: Mint Chocolate Chip, Salted Caramel and finally Nutella.  Yes!!! Nutella Milk Shake!  Out of those 3, the nutella was my favorite...  Broxton was all over the Mint Chocolate Chip and our friends enjoyed the Salted Caramel the most...  (We sampled all of them!)

I will tell you, the first time we ever went, I had their Salmon Burger- Wild Alaskan Salmon, hand chopped, avocado and ancho chile patty topped with black bean and charred corn medley, tequila lime aioli, and fresh cilantro.  It was great, but after trying the Guacapotle and the Lockhart Legend, I just might be leaving Salmon to other places.. It was really good, but these burgers were just really tasty!

  1. I already told you on Facebook that I would have to try the Lockhart Legend. Looks SO good! Most of the other burgers look great, too; I just don't eat mushrooms or avocado.

No locations near New Jersey, but I see that a Philadelphia location is coming soon. :)

  3. Everything there does look delicious. Telling my sister in law about it right now before I forget. She's in Newnan and makes her way to Atlanta pretty often!
