One of the sad things about being away from family is that Broxton doesn't get the chance to bake and do fun things like that with my mom. I know that sounds sad, but the truth is that my mom doesn't bake anyways, so it really isn't like he is missing much. I do wish that I baked and did things like that, as he does enjoy when we make a cake or something, but that is not very often.
Growing up, I remember making cakes with my Nana and then getting to add the frosting at the end. When I saw the book, Baking Day at Grandma's, I thought it would be a cute book to read and I was not disappointed!
Three bouncing little bear siblings, wrapped tight in their winter clothes, can't wait to tromp through the snow for Baking Day at Grandma's! In a rhyming text that begs to be sung, the bears and their grandma pour and mix and stir--with breaks for hot cocoa and dancing--to create the perfect wintry treat. Then they wrap it up in ribbons to show that sweets are even better when they're shared. With a recipe in the back, this is a perfect family feel-good story for the fall, winter, and any holiday spent with grandparents.
I think this is a cute book to give to Grandma.. (You could always buy it now and then gift it to her on Grandparents day!) It is super cute and I just love the illustrations!
